We are leaving this review because we would not want another family to experience what we experienced. This is not about our pet's diagnosis, treatment or suffering. We accepted that our pet was elderly and had significant health issues, and we are not disputing that euthanasia was an option that needed to be discussed. Our concern is how that conversation was handled. We were placed into a state of emotional shock and were left feeling pressurised into consenting to euthanasia. We were given very little time to think about what we truly wanted to do or to process the enormity of the decision we were being asked to make. The overwhelming message communicated to us was, "You need to do it now." At the same time, we were also told that we could wait two days to see our usual vet. No clear explanation was given as to why such urgency existed, why immediate euthanasia was being recommended that day, or how these two messages could be reconciled. The conflicting messages left us overwhelmed, distressed and in a state of emotional shock, and we consented whilst trying to process what was happening. It was only afterwards that we learned waiting remained an option, which left us struggling to understand the pressure and urgency that had been communicated to us at the time. The result was that two devastated owners found themselves making the biggest decision of their lives whilst frightened, overwhelmed and trying to process what was happening. We continue to live with the emotional consequences of that day and would not wish that experience on any other family. End-of-life discussions require not only clinical judgement, but also exceptional communication, empathy and care. The words used in those moments can stay with families long after their beloved pet has gone.

We booked an urgent appointment with Dr. Ornaith for our cat, who suddenly became very unwell with a fever and was unable to keep his tail straight. From the moment we arrived, the care we received was quick, friendly, and very professional. Dr. Ornaith spent a good amount of time thoroughly examining him and quickly identified the problem. She is highly knowledgeable, approachable, respectful, and genuinely caring towards both pets and owners. She made me feel very comfortable and reassured throughout the visit. Thanks to her excellent care, our cat recovered quickly, and we are extremely grateful. I would highly recommend Dr. Ornaith to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled veterinarian.

I am writing this review despite our cats not actually being registered here anymore, as we have moved to another county. However, with the recent news articles highlighting the cost of vetinary care I wanted to share that since moving to a new vets, the cost of treatment has significantly reduced. For the standard annual vaccinations and check up, we are now paying less than half than what we were paying here, and it does feel like we are being "upsold" less now. The staff are caring and were lovely with our cats, but, it really is a spenny vets and someone is benefitting from that.. not the animals, sadly!

Fabulous vets. I joined Mimram when I moved to Welwyn from London after reading so many positive reviews, and my experience has been brilliant. Although it’s a little further than some of my local vets, it’s absolutely worth the extra distance. When my cat passed away, they collected paw prints and fur cuttings for me, which meant so much, and I felt genuinely supported during a very difficult time. Now I have a new puppy, and she absolutely aced her first visit — the staff were calm, patient, and so gentle with her.

We had two new kittens who were booked in for their initial assessment and vaccinations etc in ten days time. They were scratching but I couldn't find any fleas but rang Mimram. They fitted us in at short notice and checked the kits over. All was well they didn't have fleas, they vaccinated, flea treated and microchipped our beauties. Everyone was very nice and professional and we appreciated being fitted in. Sylvie and Evie send thanks.

I moved to the area in 2023 and registered my then 4 year old Cocker Spaniel with this practice, and onto their very reasonably priced pet plan. Right from the get go their professional attitude along with being deeply empathetic impressed me, by far a massive difference to the veterinary practice I had come from. When my dog had any issues they always got him in to be seen very promptly and they treat him with so much care and compassion.. I’ve now added another Cocker Spaniel to my brood and didn’t hesitate to register him with Mimram vets too. The whole team here are absolute stars in my opinion and I would thoroughly recommend them 🤗

Always a friendly welcome. Care to separate different types of pets in the waiting room. Orna (sorry about spelling) took the utmost trouble to make my terrified cat feel safe and calm for the check up.
