We had our female dog in for a laparoscopic spay. I think the care she received was good and professional, but I didn't like that they repeatedly tried to overcharge us for it. Our laparoscopic spay unfortunately went wrong and became a regular spay with a longer recovery time. I absolutely understand that we'd still be charged the price of a laparoscopic spay. However, our dog was weighing LESS than 10kg which at admission and we got the bill for a laparoscopic spay of a dog OVER 10kg. It's quite a significant price difference. We had to point out that billing error 3 times and eventually the price was adjusted accordingly. However it took ages to sort out. Meanwhile we heard our poor distressed dog barking all the time after being out of anaesthesia. It felt really wrong to try and overcharge us repeatedly while the poor dog was suffering. EDIT after reading the review, the surgery reached out to me offering a partial refund because of my experience, and after talking this through, it genuinely felt like the staff cared about our experience. I really appreciate that they cared and also the significant refund.

Excellent vets , we were in the area for a few months as we live on a narrow boat, they took excellent care of our English bulldog puppy when he had cherry eye and were equally helpful when we needed a private prescription to order meds online, I'm almost sad to be moving away

Recently visited this surgery with our 3yr old Doberman-cross, Ruby, for a laparoscopic spay. From start to finish, we couldn't have asked for a better experience - the staff took great care of Ruby and spent time with us beforehand ensuring our understanding. Follow-up both immediately after the surgery and over the next few days was exactly what we had been told to expect. In addition, special thanks to Suzy and Holly for taking the time to talk us through the plans and the follow-up. Amazing people and highly recommend!

We’ve just moved to the area and, when I asked, they kindly offered us an appointment at very short notice. Our vet, Suzy, spent a lot of time with us and made our first visit genuinely comforting—patient, kind, and very clear in her explanations. Our vaccinations were done calmly and smoothly. The clinic itself is spacious, spotless, and wonderfully bright, which instantly put us at ease. We’re really happy to have found this practice and would absolutely recommend it.

I cannot praise this clinic enough. From the moment I called, they were incredible, getting me an appointment within just 1 or 2 hours. In a single day, they managed to see and treat all three of my cats, taking them in three separate times to ensure they were all cared for. Their speed in handling emergency situations is unmatched. From the receptionists to the doctors, the entire team is professional, kind, and amazing. While I am aware they are the most expensive in Tring, their prices are still very reasonable for the level of care provided. It is a private company, not a franchise, and you can truly feel the difference in the honesty and respect they show both the animals and the owners. I am beyond grateful for their help during a very stressful time. They are well-respected for a reason. Highly recommend.

I moved my 4 Pomeranian / Spitz cross dogs & 1 cat to Springwell 2 years ago and have been very impressed with the level of care. Two keyhole spays (including my tiny Pom) after which both dogs recovered incredibly quickly and both were looked after so very well by the vets and nurses. One of my dogs is very anxious and timid but when I went to collect her she was relaxed, happy & the centre of attention & cuddles!! My cat has had a molar tooth extraction and recovered very well also. Whilst there is no ‘pet plan’ monthly payment scheme the vets will issue paper prescriptions (at cost) for online purchases of wormers etc. I am very happy with Springwell Vets, especially knowing that they have advanced modern surgical equipment and expertise to deal with complex problems onsite where the vets know my pets and my pets feel comfortable. Highly recommend this independent practice where customer care shines through from all the lovely, kind, professional and capable staff.

An absolute gem of a veterinary surgery. I’m sad I didn’t find it sooner. After being registered with a few other vets and never feeling like they really cared about my dog or didn’t look at me like a walking cash-register, I am so happy I’ve finally found Springwell. My dog is elderly and has lots of needs and they couldn’t be kinder or more accommodating. The practice doesn’t feel corporate at all, like all the others we’ve been to do, and I feel strongly that the vets at Springwell put my dog’s needs first. Our usual vet is Vicky, who is wonderful. She is really knowledgeable, but also so caring. We have also seen Ralph and I was so impressed by his attitude and sensitivity when addressing end of life care for my dog. The nurses and reception staff are all kind and really helpful too. I don’t think there’s a better veterinary practice around.
