Welcome to Poplar Vets - A place where you and your beloved pets receive the best care, attention and treatment. Nestled in the heart of London, our veterinary practice is located in the bustling and vibrant city of Greater London, England. We understand that your pets are not merely animals, but rather an integral part of your family that deserves the highest levels of care and attention when it comes to their health and well-being. That is why our team of experienced veterinary professionals are available to assist with every facet of their care, whether it be routine check-ups or emergency treatment.
At Poplar Vets, we believe that prevention is better than cure. As such, we encourage regular health check-ups to identify any signs of illness or disease before they progress to a point where they become more difficult and expensive to treat. Our practices are open all week, with our opening hours being Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00, Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00 and we are closed on Sundays.
Our team of veterinary surgeons is led by Dr Bernard Lin Gang Chia, who is a highly experienced consultant with years of experience in the industry. His team comprises of Dr Wuon-Gean Ho, Mrs Marija Janulaityte Šerniuviene, Dr Victoria McDonald and Dr Nora Vancsisin. Together, they provide a range of veterinary services that cater to dogs, cats, and small mammals.
At Poplar Vets, we take your pet’s health seriously. That’s why we have state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to handle any medical emergencies or treatments. Our facilities include client car parks and disabled public access to cater to everyone’s needs. Whether you require dental care, surgery, or just want to check your pet’s overall health, we’ve got you covered.
We pride ourselves in being friendly and approachable. Our veterinary team always takes the time to listen, understand, and work closely with you to find the best solution for your furry friends. We understand how frustrating it can be when our pets fall ill or get injured, which is why our knowledgeable staff members aim to provide quality care and advice in the most stress-free way possible.
Finally, we are open on weekends, making it convenient for you to bring your pets in for check-ups even when you’re busy during the week. Plus, with our easy online booking service, you can book an appointment with us at any time of the day or night.

The vets themselves are great. You can get an appointment fast enough, however sometimes they are too busy thus you need to wait a long time. The front desk staff seems quite unfriendly, one of them cannot speak English so well either.

I have gone to this clinic several times over the last couple of years with my cats. I have had nothing but good experiences every single time! The receptionists always treat me with respect and answer all of my questions. Every vet and nurse has treated my cats with care, regardless if I have come in for a regular vaccination or for a life threatening emergency. I cannot thank every member of staff enough for how they approach customer service and treatment, and I cannot recommend this clinic enough! I want to specifically say thank you to Dr Jae Won Jun, Dr Eleanor Sarah Curtis, Dr May Hsu Ko, Dr Kostas Katsarakis and Dr Liliana Pierfelice, who have all provided superb care for my cats!

Surgery - Subtotal colectomy and hernia repair on cat I found this practice after my cat required a subtotal colectomy and the vet hospital I was referred to quoted thousands of pounds above my insurance limit. At my first appointment with Poplar Vets it was also found he had a severe hernia where his organs were growing around his heart. Dr Marek was the vet surgeon that performed both surgeries, and my cat has recovered really well. I really appreciate Poplar Vets (especially the practice manager Tomas) took into consideration my insurance situation and kept costs as low as possible, while my cat still got excellent care. I would recommend this practice to anyone facing a serious or complex situation with their pet. Thank you to the team for looking after my cat and giving him the best care.

I recently brought my two cats to Poplar Vets and was very happy with the treatment suggested for each individual cat. They actually seemed to care about the animals and were very clear about costs and different treatment options available. This is the very polar opposite of our previous veterinary practice, where they would try to ‘super-size’ the appointment by selling expensive products. I would highly recommend Poplar Vets and feel relieved that I have found them.

If I could award 6 stars, I would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not quite sure why Poplar Vets has a few bad reviews, as the level of care, professionalism, and compassion shown by the entire team is outstanding. Poplar Vets are absolutely amazing and truly care about both pets and their owners. They consistently strive to keep prices as low as possible while still providing expert advice, high-quality care, and outstanding service, something that’s becoming harder to find these days. The vets are incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and take the time to explain everything clearly. The nurses are kind, patient, and genuinely devoted to animal welfare, and the reception team are always welcoming, helpful, and understanding, even during busy or stressful moments. You can really feel that everyone here works as a team with the same goal: to give the best possible care while being fair, honest, and supportive. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust Poplar Vets with any pet, and I’m so grateful for the dedication they show every single day. Highly recommend 🐾💙

I brought my kitten in for his first general check-up and was seen by Dr. Bernard, and I had a really positive experience. He was very direct and straight to the point, but also more than happy to explain everything and answer all my questions with confidence, which left me feeling very reassured that my little one is doing great. My kitten was microchipped and vaccinated during the visit, and the whole process was smooth and surprisingly stress-free. He’s usually very nervous, but Dr. Bernard distracted him with treats and he barely even noticed what was happening. His communication was comforting and professional, and overall I felt well looked after. While the costs can be on the higher side, the staff took the time to explain a kitten bundle that made the visit feel worthwhile and good value for money.

We had a great experience at Poplar Vets with our dog Tokyo. Every time we needed them, they saw her promptly and took excellent care of her. We’re especially grateful to Dr. Anna Ducos and Dr. Bernard for always being so thorough and kind with Tokyo, which gave us real peace of mind. The team has also been very helpful with our insurance claims and always responsive whenever we needed follow-ups.
