Has anyone else been told their dog had a heart murmur? Took our dog to be spayed. No heart issues detected before the op. Afterwards we were told she had a heart murmur and needed to see the cardiologist. We declined. No vet has ever detected one before or since. The op couldn't go ahead due to complications but we were charged £300 more than the spay was due to cost. Understand they are a business but several other vets said they wouldn't have charged or would only have charged the price of the spay. Cannot fault Mairead or Katy, they were so kind and compassionate. It was another member of the team who mentioned the murmur. Would not go back. Someone else we met had the same 'heart murmur' experience, again no vet before or since could hear one...beware.

It's so nice to go to a vets that doesn't look like a polished Bond villain's lair but rather a proper old fashioned vets. Independently owned so you know that you are not paying for the overheads of a corporate vet's practice nor for their executive board's profit targets. My cats were given a thorough going over by a very meticulous vet and for a very reasonable price. I 100% recomend.

Caring, empathic, kind and professional. I love how much they love our animal. 🐾Update🐾 i was going through my reviews and didn't realise how unexplanatory my review was! RVS are always going the extra mile to ensure your animal is well looked after. They understand all pet owners will have different approaches and are welcoming and understanding to those who don't like the idea/have the fear of overmedicating/ unnecessary treatments for their pets. They can provide Titer testing upon request. RVS are really happy to accommodate desensitization to the surgery. EG, happy for your animal to come in for cuddles, so they're not only attending for procedures/things that make them anxious. When your pet does have a procedure, they are really amazing at keeping you updated on how they are doing. The photo uploaded is my little one having post-surgery care. I cannot fault the team one bit - they are all just fantastic and truly care for the animals. I absolutely love them and they have even helped heal my 'vets anxiety', due to previous experience at previous surgery. I won't go anywhere else.

The team at Redruth Vets are compassionate, experienced and professional and always go the extra mile. We are a small charity and the team at Redruth Vets work with us to support our patients with clinical procedures such as neutering, lump removals, stitch-ups, dentals, orthopedics and diagnostics e.g. ultrasound, xrays, blood tests, etc... They will always try to be accommodating with appointments where their diary allows and our patients receive excellent care in their hands. They are a pleasure to work with.

We honestly couldn’t ask for a better vets practice. All three of our cats are registered here and every visit reminds us why we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Recently our youngest baby, Spencer — a Maine Coon cross and a total rascal — managed to break one of his baby teeth and had to have it removed. He went in for surgery one morning and came back happy as anything… he absolutely loved his time there! The care, kindness and reassurance we received throughout was second to none. Every single vet is friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely caring, always giving the best advice and taking time to explain everything properly. The receptionists are just as wonderful — always warm, welcoming, and making a real fuss of our fur babies, which means so much. Our other baby recently had a poorly ear and saw Mairead, who was fantastic. He clearly adored her, giving lots of love and purrs throughout the appointment — which says everything about how gentle and caring she is. We feel completely confident knowing our cats are in such safe, compassionate hands. This practice truly goes above and beyond, and in our eyes they absolutely deserve recognition as the best vets around. Highly recommended 🐾💙

The friendliest Staff Warmest reception The Team all clearly love working there. They have dealt with all our past dogs whatever the breed and they have loved them all equally They were there to support us through losing our dogs when the time came. They recently operated on our Rescue Whippet and looked after her incredible well as she’s quite nervous - post op checkups were thorough. Now we have our new Rescue Hector who is extremely adorable and they all fell in love with him immediately so I know that if he or Molly needs anything doing in the future they will be in safe hands and the dogs will feel comfortable with them all! Highly recommend RVS
