Our cat Ted was very unwell and the vet moved things around so he could be put to sleep rather than wait till the following week. Even though we were squeezed in, we given time with Ted and not rushed to say goodbye. We were treated with kindness and compassion and so was Ted. Highly recommend. The following week we received a beautiful hand written sympathy card that was embossed with wild flower seeds that we will plant in the garden on Ted’s favourite spot. So thoughtful, thank you 🩶

This practice is a prime example of putting profits over pet health. Not only did they relentlessly pressure me to get an expensive dental treatment for my pet via text and in-person, but they also refused to provide a 12-month prescription. Instead, they insisted on two separate 6-month prescriptions, forcing me to pay the full cost twice. This disgusting, high-pressure approach made it painfully clear that my pet's well-being was secondary to their bottom line. I am appalled by their conduct and urge you to avoid this practice at all costs.

The team at Calder Vets in Sandal are always warm, welcoming and kind towards my pooch. She is treated with patience, and accommodations have been made to allow me to use cooperative care/consent-based/force-free handling. Because it was very difficult to withdraw blood for allergy testing and she was standing for a long time being prodded repeatedly, we went for a social visit before her booster jabs and kennel cough vaccine, where she was given lots of attention, fusses, and treats! I can genuinely say that my dog is excited to go to the vets, which is exactly how it should be :)

My usual vet unless my pet needs anything serious and then it's off to Calder Vets in Dewsbury. The expansion has done the place a lot of good and now they have specific waiting areas for cats away from other pets where they can be more relaxed. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and never had a bad experience there.
