I visited Vicarage Veterinary around six weeks ago with my poorly chipmunk, Poppy. She was suffering with a rather complicated, unusual ailment. Although this type of animal is not the usual that enters their doors, I was impressed with the time taken, compassion shown and the caring nature of the nurses who advised and helped. There is very little treatment available to such small and exotic pets such as these, but the nurses where honest and did the very best they could, offering several options open to me without any pressure. I realised in my heart at the time, that this may well be terminal, but with the help given, and the medicine provided, she had a happy, comfortable life and didn't suffer any pain. She was nearly eight years old, which for a small rodent is a good longevity, and I couldn't have realistically expected more. I was fitted in on two occasions at short notice, and the costs were considerably less than I expected, (despite the facts that I was neither registered here, nor had I visited before). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the V.V.C. to others, and I will be returning in the future, should I need to with other pets.

I cannot rate this practice highly enough. I have two guinea pigs that they have cared for over two years including major surgery on one. Always ready to see the boys quickly if I am worried. I have never felt ripped off or over charged for anything. Previous vets I have used have been a disgrace in comparison. Thank you to all who work at this practice for your care. December 2025 Sadly one of my two guinea pigs ( my favourite) had to be put down this week. X-rays showed advanced dental disease and as he was five years old treatment would have been complex and it was the kindest option. I was treated so well at the practice with patience and empathy and everything explained to me. Many thanks to all and I know you will be there for my remaining piggy.

I will never be able to thank Jasmine enough for what she has done. She quite literally saved my dog’s life, and I will always be grateful to her. From the moment we walked in, she showed such kindness, compassion, and genuine care. She went above and beyond, not just treating my dog but also supporting me through such a frightening time. The love and dedication she has for animals shines through in everything she does. I’ll never forget what Jasmine and the nurses did for us — your truly amazing, and I couldn’t recommend Jasmine and the team at Vicarage veterinary centre more highly.

So for a short while my little puppy dog had been suffering with a UTI and it was discovered that she also had crystals in her bladder that were contributing to the UTI and overall feeling of her being poorly. We took the advise to treat with Antibiotics and a change in diet and surgery was an option but always the last resort, my wife and i agreed and left with a course of antibiotics. After giving them for a couple of days we saw a slight improvement in her overall presentation and thought she was turning a corner, unfortunately this was short lived and she returned to feeling unwell. I returned from home on Friday to see that she had deteriorated so decided to ring the vets and see if i could get her seen on Friday 19th rather than the appointment that she already had on the Saturday 20th, baring in mind the call i made was about 1810 and they closed at 1900 and it was a 45min journey. They of course said yes they would see her due to the concerns i had raised. I got in the car and managed to get to the practice at 1850 and waited for fudge to be seen. Jasmine took Fudge and assessed her and stated she had a blockage in her bladder and this was life threatening and need surgery right away as her bladder was full and she couldn't pass water due to the blockage. Jasmine advised Fudge would need transferring to the out of hr surgery in and asked if we were insured due to the cost this was going to incur. We having indeed got her insured i replied. I don't mind admitting i was an absolute emotion wreck, thinking there was a high possibility i wouldn't be taking my little bundle of joy home again and this would be the final time i had with her. Jasmine could see that i was in a 'Mess' and gave fudge a life line. She told me would do the surgery on Saturday, she would drain fudges bladder and make her comfy for the evening and then prep her for surgery for Saturday morning. Baring in mind Jasmine was due to finish her shift on friday at 1300 but instead decide to stay and help the countless people and pets like me that day. I got a call from her on the Saturday to advise surgery had gone well and Fudge was in recovery and would be ready to go home later that afternoon. We have seen Jasmine a few times now with our two pugs and every time she has been thorough and explained everything clearly. Nothing seemed to much trouble. She saved my best little girls life on that day. It was a perfect example of going above and beyond. So from all of us Jasmine, we want to say thank you! You are truly an amazing vet and the professionalism and empathy you showed me was unmeasurable! And im sure Fudge will thank you as soon as she sees you again. Thank you!

Lovely place. Friendly welcoming reception staff. Calm atmosphere. Vet was very attentive, professional and reassuring. Glad I changed vet services. Well worth driving 15 mins to Vicarage Vets. Thank you
