Until today I would say we have had great care from vets for pets. The vets and reception staff are lovely and approachable and genuinely care. However our dog has been put on life long medication costing a significant amount on a monthly basis. Our pet is insured however vets for pets expect us to pay the substantial amount every month to them and then claim back through the insurance, where as other vets see it as an ongoing claim with no expectation of payment as they will sort the claim directly with the insurance. I was told by reception at vets for pets to contact the practice manager as this option is considered on a case by case basis. I explained the financial implication however the practice manager didn’t even bother to contact us to explain why they said no, but instead was informed by reception. Leaving us in the position to either pay our mortgage or support our family dog with medication he needs. Needless to say the care and compassion of the practice manager didn’t meet our expectations. We have now moved vets which are more than happy to help allowing us to care for our dog. I wouldn’t recommend vets for pets given this experience.

Today I went to store with my dog Tobis to buy a new harness for him and I met Ashima, I think that was her name, young lady, she works there. She made our day, she was so patient with us, my dog neither small, neither medium, like in the middle and she explained to me differences between the harnesses and helped us to try different on him just to make sure it fits well on Tobis. Also I bought some other things there for Tobis and we left store happy and satisfied. Thank You, Ashima!

I was refused an emergency appointment for my cat because he was still technically registered with my previous vet; which is closed on weekends, doesn't offer out-of-hours care, and is over an hour away. Despite the urgency of the situation, the receptionist I spoke to was rude and condescending, showing no compassion or professionalism. I was left feeling dismissed at a time when my pet needed urgent care the most.

I have been using Vets For Pets Lincoln South since 2023 when I first got my rats. I was really apprehensive because id never owned an animal before and I was terrified of the vets due to some strange previous experiences. But for the last two years I have had such a positive experience with all the vets and nurses I have encountered. I have been on several occasions (and spent a lot of money due to me worrying) and I have always been met with compassion and vets who are very knowledgeable and helpful in easing my worries. Even in the last two weeks of my girls life the vet I had was brilliant and he knew exactly what what I needed to hear at the time but was also realistic about the outcomes. Unfortunately she didn’t make it past those two weeks after her check up but I wouldnt have been so prepared if I hadn’t have had a positive experience. Even with the nurse for her last ever consultation, I didnt feel rushed or anything. It made the grieving process a lot easier and ive never been more appreciative. The reception staff have also been so lovely every time ive called up worried or come in worried. Appreciate everything this vets does for its customers and couldnt recommend them more for small mammals!

Everyone who came in to contact with our old boy Eric the Cat were very loving and gentle towards him and he wasn't at all unhappy to be there. I am so grateful they helped my baby even if it was a claw issue. I had to leave the room whilst the vet and nurse sorted out the sore part as I hate seeing my baby in pain. He is much happier now so I am very grateful.

We had been with this Vets4Pets for over 2 years now but after an appointment booked on the 29th for my dogs nail as it had split, i will never go back to the Lincoln branch. I was in and out of the appointment in under 4 minutes (the appointment cost me £30) being told it had already started to heal and give it some time, a week on it looked worse, i rang explaining i wasn't happy with the first opinion and wanted a second opinion and was told " that's no problem but you will still have to pay another £30" !!!!!! So after back and forth phone calls and being told "sometimes appointments are rushed due to emergency surgery" well I'm sorry but if the practice was busy i should have been told on the phone and should have been booked in for the next day. When my partner rang up he was scoffed at by the Manager when asked to email a contact at head office so he could make a complaint. We will now always advise people to look at other vet practices as this one clearly values PROFIT OVER THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PETS IN THEIR CARE. Absolutely disgusted. (Attached is the picture of my dogs nail) that "was already going through the healing process" absolute bull, take your pets somewhere where they care for your pet and not the profit. As you can see there is dried blood and swollen skin, Lilo now hasn't been walked for a week out of fear of infection.
