Took my 2 week old kittens in for a consultation due to them having trouble with their eyes, was seen by the vet Kathryn and this isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience with her, in all fairness we did receive the treatment for the kittens and the receptionists were lovely however the vet Kathryn is very condescending and rude, she talks down to you as if you have no idea how to look after an animal! We have 13 cats and all are very well looked after. These kittens have had sore eyes for 3 days and it wasn’t clearing up so we took them in as soon as we could but I was made to feel like I haven’t done enough. I was in around a year ago for one of our other cats and again the same vet spoke down to me and my fiancé talking to us as if we neglect our pets which couldn’t be further from the truth. I would avoid this place if you don’t want to be made to feel like a horrible person. We will be moving our pets to somewhere else.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Nothing against the person at reception they have always been kind but the vet…awful. Was repeatedly ignored about my concerns with my dog and looked at like I was crazy. Condescending, dismissive and belittling. My dog got very sick suddenly at 17:45 and so I called them. They said “too late the vet is leaving for the day”. Went to the emergency vet and he had a splenic mass and we had to let him go. No call from this vet after they had been told or anything. I recommend going anywhere else but here.

We’d been with Albyn for years and for the most part this practice was great. But in recent years the vet seemed very disinterested in our concerns for our boys health. Both me & my partner raised concerns about small lumps appearing, to which we were told this is nothing to worry about. Well, turns out he had an aggressive tumour growing rapidly. If only I had listened to my gut and went to a different vet things might be different, and he might still be here. Listen to the owners. We know our pets. And if we think something is wrong. Check it. Seems this place is more interested in rushing you back out the door, no questions answered, and charge you £50 for the privilege.

This vet was amazing years ago when I started getting pets! Since then things have gone downhill! First of all my 5kg dog was given a flea and worm tablet for a 35kg dog and not even an apology was given. My young puppy with severe health issues and anxiety was brought in to get his ears looked at. He was pinned and his ears plucked til they bled (he was already in so much pain with his ears) the nurses were quite happy to show me the pictures of his ears bleeding. When I phoned up (on 2 seperate occasions as one dog isn’t registered to me) to move them vets I wasn’t asked any questions about who I was. It was literally 1 sentence from me saying my dogs name and the new vets and the file was sent and deleted. Shocking especially considering one dog wasn’t registered to me.

DO NOT USE THIS VET!!!! would give zero stars if i could. anyone who says they’ve had anything but a terrible experience using this vet is either lying or very very lucky. before reading this keep in mind me and my family have years of personal experience in cat rescue, pregnant cats, difficult cat labours, and kittens from all ages. for a start the owner is VERY rude and dismissive! she over all doesn’t listen to her customers. this woman needs to rethink the way she interacts with humans. my mum has used this vet in the past and said she’s had similar experiences. to cut a long story short we took in a very skinny pregnant homeless cat. they gave her a £50 ten minute “check up” where they squeezed her belly and repeated what we had already told her because this woman does not listen to her customers and just thinks she knows best. I understand we are paying for years of training and experience but if a pet owner is telling you something about their specific pet listen to them don’t just group their pet in with every other cat or dog. a month later mama cat had her babies. one of the babies were quite poorly and her health was declining fast so we took mama and all her babies to the vet for a check over. at home before the appointment we did everything we could to warm baby up and we tried bottle feeding her but there was no progress. when we got to the vet they picked up the sick newborn kitten and they gave her a quick looking at and again rudely repeated everything we had already said as if she wasn’t listening. they then picked up one of the healthy kittens to compare to sick baby but no in depth check up for the rest the of the litter or mama even after we expressed our concern. they kept the sick kitten in for 2 hours and did all the same things we were doing at home. kitten sadly passed away and they handed her over wrapped in a paper towel inside a cardboard box that had clearly been reused from a previous package. zero compassion and the two woman treating our kitten didn’t even say sorry for your loss or tell us in person what had happened instead the receptionist read out a piece of paper and said “it was a lesson learned” while smiling. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! will not be coming here again and best believe i’ll be telling everyone i know not to bother wasting their money or putting their pets at risk coming here. do not under any circumstances use this vet. we used it purely for convenience as it’s the only vet near by and i don’t drive.
