Came to this vets as my dog had a cataract in her eye. They want to operate and do a £4,000 surgery but they are refusing to take a direct payment of my insurance. I think this is extremely silly as this is the reason we have insurance so now my dog has too have no surgery just because they won't send an invoice to my insurance. When I said this to them they told me it's easy enough to get a credit card! Think this is an awful thing to say! I don't think they care for animals I think they care more about money when I have proof of my insurance approving all costs

Rude and condescending receptionist. Needed an emergency apt but can't commit to today as I've got work and she says it's not her fault that I've got work??? Mind blowing. Safe to say I won't entertain this practise.

I'm really shocked by the other reviews because honestly, this vet is way more honest and caring than any vet I've previously been to. I was very concerned regarding my guinea pig's health and they were able to diagnose the issue very quickly! They were very straightforward and genuinely wanted the best not only for my guinea pig, but also for me too! The prices are also way more reasonable compared to the past vets I've been to. Thank you so much to everyone who works there for being caring and genuine. I'll definitely be coming back if anything happens with my guinea pig's from now on :)

Called to ask if they had any advice for flea treatments and cleaning the house, first time dealing with this. Lady on the phone just said no didn’t offer a single bit of advice. Not a single bit of compassion towards animals lol. First impression always matters. Wouldn’t recommend. Continued with goodbye.

Martin’s practice has been treating our pets for close on 40 years now. Professional, so knowledgeable and very caring. Would give 10* if I could

I had a very upsetting experience with this veterinary practice. After paying upfront for a visit, I was told they couldn’t see my cat because I couldn’t provide previous vet records at that moment. I was then told I’d receive a refund, which took four days to reach my account. Because of this delay, I couldn’t take my cat to another vet right away due to lack of funds. Unfortunately, my cat’s condition worsened during that time, and I eventually had to go to an emergency service, where my cat’s eye had to be removed. To make things worse, when I tried to explain my frustration and asked for my refund urgently, I was later sent a letter saying I was being removed from their client list for being “rude.” I never swore or acted aggressively — I simply raised my voice out of stress and worry for my pet. Overall, this practice showed a lack of compassion and flexibility in an emergency situation. I would not recommend them to anyone who expects understanding and care during a stressful time.

I recently joined this practice and have seen all the vets at the surgery, as I have a dog who’s been quite unwell. Every single member of the team has been so lovely and compassionate. They’ve shown real care and gentleness towards my dog, especially considering how anxious she’s become about vet visits. They never push unnecessary or expensive treatments - only what she truly needs - and every time we leave, she’s calm and on the road to recovery. I highly recommend them. It’s such a relief to have found a practice that puts the animal’s wellbeing first.
