We've always had a good experience with Abivale. Our Great Dane was previously nervous of the vets, having had a poor experience previously and since being with Abivale Wantage they've really helped her with this. Recently we've mostly visited Anna, who is very gentle with Mango (edible bribery also a bit win in her books) and has really helped her relax and the vets not be a negative experience. The reception team too have always maintained a calm environment and been really helpful, so thanks all for that. We've also had to use the emergency out of hours in Abingdon when Mango tore her skin on some barbed wire, we were quite nervous about leaving her (given her prior experience) but she seemed at ease and was nice and relaxed when we collected her. It healed beautifully and you couldn't tell she'd had stitches now. Back to her usual bouncy clumsy self.

Always friendly and caring service for our dog from the receptionist to the vets that we see during our visits and a convenient location for us to travel to for routine appointments.

This vets only care about money, they had my cat in for one night, they didn’t actually need to do anything for him as he’d been sent from my own vets for overnight monitoring. My own vets placed an IV line and sent him over with fluids, he stayed there overnight and didn’t need anything else from them- they charged £430 for this! My pet insurance paid most of it and i was left with about £140 to pay, i also had to pay my own vets as well. They called me to ask for payment and i said as this was unexpected and close to the end of the month i didn’t have it at this time, i asked if i could pay it in 2 instalments, the first being in a weeks time when id been paid and the following month when i have been paid. They showed absolutely no compassion and said no to this immediately, they said they’d pass me on to a debt recovery company. Fine, it’s quite a cold and heartless attitude but it just shows they only care about the money. Then i have received a letter from the debt collector adding a 4% late payment fee and an administrative charge too. I just feel really let down. I completely understand that they are a business but the fees are extortionate anyway and I’d said i would pay it i just didn’t have it there and then. So yes i believe they are only interested in the money

Going to the vets is never usually a pleasant experience but the staff at Abivale Wantage are always so accommodating and friendly towards myself and my pets. I currently have two cats and a dog who see Robert and they all love him (my labrador also especially loves Lily the nurse too, who is always ready to welcome him with a smile and cuddle!). The staff are amazing at providing non-judgemental advice and answering the hundreds of questions I seem to ask during checkups, as well as being very encouraging in regards to supporting me in my animal husbandry. One of my cats in particular is very nervous in new spaces and around new people, but he’s always settled and purring by the end of his checkups. I’d definitely recommend the team at Abivale Wantage to anyone who is looking for a veterinary practice who genuinely care about the well-being of their clients.

We had a very positive first experience at Abivale in Wantage. Our dog was new to us, a rescue dog and was a little nervous. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The treatment and advice was excellent

Such a lovely vet and all round friendly and professional business. With a nervous rescue dog, going to a new vets can be a bit worrying for both of us. The vet was so sweet and gentle with her that she seems perfectly happy to be there, which was wonderful! Thank you so much!
