Finally found the right vet – wish we'd found them sooner After years of dealing with pushy chain vets that seemed more interested in upselling than actual care, finding Mill Lane Veterinary Surgery was a relief. Dr. Gemma is knowledgeable, thorough, and – critically – trustworthy. No pushing of unnecessary treatments or expensive procedures you don't really need. The lady at reception is equally impressive – polite, friendly, and efficient. It's clear the whole practice runs well. They handled my cat's dental work and regular vaccinations over the two years we were with them, and for the first time in a long while, I felt confident we were getting honest, quality care. Honest and transparent pricing. The dental surgery cost was substantially cheaper than what the corporate chains quoted, without any compromise on quality. We only moved away recently, otherwise we'd still be there. If you're tired of corporate vet practices treating your furry child like a revenue stream, this is where you want to be. Independent, professional, and they actually care about your pet's wellbeing over the bottom line.

Extremely rude receptionist, I don’t know what her problem is but she seemed to take it very personally when I asked for a bandage for my dog. Vet seemed nice but think we are going to change vets due to the generally negative experience and rude way we were spoken to.

I (and my cat) have attended Mill Lane Vets for many years. I have always found them to be caring and sensitive. All the staff are so kind and friendly and the vets are knowledgable and provide clear easy to understand information. Highly recommended.

Extremely disappointed with the care my cat received here. What should have been a routine spay resulted in a serious internal injury (a splenic laceration), causing unnecessary trauma and pain. No proper apology or accountability from the clinic, and we were charged in full—including for complications they caused. Poor communication, long waits, and a lack of compassion throughout. I’ve reported the incident to the RCVS.
