Visiting from France my 14 year old very very sick cat needed blood work and repeat meds. Horrified doesn’t describe this visit! I’ve just had a reply from my email and it turns out the £50 bill they’re chasing me for was sent in error. They can’t even bill you correctly and so I’ve written this long review because frankly I’m stunned this practice operates in this fashion! The vet I saw clearly works on large farm animals and traumatised my old cat for more than 5 mins sticking a needle in her neck claiming, « that’s not getting any blood » cat squirming eyes bulging….then she did the same incompetent procedure in the leg, (which my French vet gets done in neck under 35secs). I then got a call on my mobile answering machine saying « I had to do some complicated maths work to arrive at results » not the most professional way to allay an owners fears! I returned to pay my £129 bill (normally bloods meds France 89e) no vet could be bothered to come out until after the irritable Secretary couldn’t explain why dogs meds were given! I mean this conversation went so badly she stormed off like a petulant child because she couldn’t and SHOULDNT have been left to dispense meds and follow up with a client!!! the normal drug had been discontinued and a half dose had to be given on a cat with thyroid and kidney problems. I left totally stressed out after the most unprofessional treatment 40 mins later while various vets at the practise LITERALLY DODGED coming to talk to me, ignoring me stood at the counter and my reasonable questions No apology, no explanations on blood work which was in decline with a cat drinking litres a day and urinating incessantly, which wasn’t euthanised in France hoping medication could correct it. I’d come home to care for a sick relative and brought my beloved cat, this vet practice left me with absolutely no confidence. Clearly ?? 5 star with your cattle??? but I’d urge you , if you care about your small animal to NOT go to this practice. I’ve had cats, dogs ,rehomed and from pups , boxers ,poodles and horses for 40 years and never have I been subjected to such a tragic, unprofessional experience. After paying in full , I was lead to believe, with no outstanding bill, I returned to France, with just a laboratory copy of blood work ,well, today, my 90 yr old uncle where I visited and had no alternative at their request to register his address to get treatment, has a received a letter and a bill for £50 (which I don’t owe) It offers no clue for what his covers and the email reply explains it’s not their practise to itemise a bill. They have the audacity to let me leave their practice, with NO follow up appointment, issued medication, believing I’ve paid in full, for a dreadful unprofessional experience! Had their petulant, argumentative, moody , stroppy Secretary not had an outburst, given her attention to my account and itemised a bill properly then there would be no outstanding amount, an amount I’m chased for which is a MISTAKE They had my phone number, email address and yet can’t even write a clear covering letter! I really am disgusted but moreover interested in which incompetent member of staff closes an account and 6 weeks on asks me for £50 which I don’t owe without explanation! No wonder people are giving pets up in Uk with outrageous costs and incompetence like this. Horrified

I have been a client with Tibbs and Simmons for about 15 years and would both trust and highly recommend them. Clare Tibbs and her team have cared for my ponies who have significantly differing needs, with skill, expertise and dedication ensuring their health is maintained to the highest standard. Their advice and treatment have always been first class from routine injections, to my mare's successful recovery from acute stress laminitis. Emily Frost was new to the practice in 2014 and her first night on call was to Folly who was showing symptoms of colic which unfortunately was in fact a more serious inoperable intestinal obstruction - which Emily suspected. This would have been a difficult situation for any vet. I stayed with Folly all night, Emily phoned regularly to get updates and came out to us a second time at midnight just to check her. Although Folly's medical condition and age meant she could not be saved the genuine care and professionalism we received from the initial call out was first class - for which I will always be grateful.
