This used to be such a great practice until it was taken over by a big group We keep getting calls to confirm and arrange check-ups we haven't asked for and this a month after transferring from this practice. Everything is seen as a sales opportunity. Such a shame what has happened to this business.

Came in this morning to get a quote on how much it would be to have my 1 year old female cat spayed, £179 they quoted me and thats if the operation is straighforward!!, i rang another local vets who quoted me £105 a big difference in price, it seems like green lane vets only care about profit not our animals, needless to say i'll be re-registering both my cats with another trusted vets who actually genuinely care about animals and nof profit!

I have been a client of Greenlane Vets for over 20 years, but my recent experience which resulted in the loss of my 5‑year‑old Maine Coon cat Loki has been devastating and unacceptable. Loki had pre‑operative bloods taken on 4th June 2024 before a routine dental. Those results were not compatible with proceeding safely, yet this was never communicated to us. Despite having blood results that were “off the scale”, the practice went ahead with the dental surgery. To which he never recovered from, after multiple visits he had to endure a second procedure where Loki was given an excessive dose of Metacam. IVC (owners of Greenlane) later acknowledged that Greenlane had administered this excessive dose without consent, they even described the excessive Metacam dose as “reasonable”, yet in the same correspondence stated that drug guidelines can be “confusing” and that they would “take this opportunity to retrain staff” an admission that directly contradicts their claim that the overdose was acceptable. Over the following weeks, Loki became increasingly unwell. His condition deteriorated rapidly after the second surgery, during where he received the excessive dose of Metacam, and he then began gaining weight. At the time, we were told he was “eating too much”. Only later did we learn that these changes were consistent with an acute renal decline something already visible in his blood results but never communicated to us. When an out‑of‑hours vet advised that Greenlane were out of their depth and recommended referral, Greenlane insisted that Loki undergo £1,700 worth of what they described as “gold standard” tests before they would agree to refer him. These tests included repeat bloods which showed that Loki had an acute kidney injury compared to his previous results again, something they failed to communicate to us. Despite this, they claimed he had a heart issue and recommended a heart scan the next day, even though the bloods directly disputed this. They still insisted on the heart scan before proceeding with the referral. Even after insisting on these tests, they failed to pass on key clinical information to the referral centre. From Loki’s first presentation for a routine procedure to his death was just eight weeks. He was five years old and the most kind natured cat you would never meet. The responses from both Greenlane and IVC have been dismissive, defensive, and centred on blaming hindsight rather than accepting responsibility. Both the practice and IVC have repeatedly weaponised hindsight to minimise their failings, despite being in possession of the clinical findings first‑hand and failing to act on them at every stage. After Loki’s death, it also came to light six months later, and only after persistently requesting his full clinical history that he had been given yet another excessive dose of Metacam on another surgery and this had never been disclosed to us at the time. One of the vets involved in these failures is no longer with the practice, but another remains including the vet who contributed to the excessive dose Loki received. The fact that multiple overdoses only emerged months after his death raises serious concerns about how many other cats may have been put at risk during dental procedures up until 2025 given that these incidents were not recorded transparently or communicated to owners. After two decades as a loyal client, I can no longer trust this practice with the care of any animal, we hope the RCVS recognise this as misconduct. We feel that we failed Loki by taking him to Greenlane and we miss him dearly.

I have been with Green lane vets since 2013 when I first got my pooch. As the years went by my doggo didn’t need much vet care as he was a healthy dog and full of life until recently over the weekend when we needed the vets services. Yeaterday(Mon) we took our beloved doggo and he went over rainbow bridge and the care and affection shown by the vet and the staff was comforting and we were given a card with his paw prints and some of his fur as a keepsake. Thank you for making a difficult day easier to deal with. Thank you for the care you showed our doggo also. 💙

I had a bad experience with this vets. I had been taking my dog and cats here for a year or so and and had spent quite a lot of money over this period. I had always paid my bill in full and had always received good care. My dog had became very ill and had become obvious she needed to be put to sleep. Unfortunately I didn't have the money for another couple of days and I was quoted nearly £300 for her to be euthanised. I asked if I could pay in 2 days and I was told no you have to go somewhere else. This meant my dog was in severe pain and distress until I got paid. I felt this was inhumane. I couldn't borrow the money off anyone and I feel that they had known us for so long that they could have given me the benefit of the doubt. After she passed I decided to take my cats elsewhere. To keep a dog in pain for that long was heart breaking.

Greenline vets are a brilliant company that doesn’t rip you off. Compared to some of these Nasty national parasitic companies. My guinea pig has had a tumour this week in Caergwlre they did a brilliant job On her, unfortunately, she pulled all the stitches out so two lovely girls in Chester on Saturday morning fitted us in last min and sorted her out. Very professional, attentive and completely altruistic can’t thank them enough! Glad to say, hopefully my pig is out of the woods now! Thank you so much everyone!

I cannot recommend Green Lane Vets high enough to be honest. We have been registered with the practice for many, many years now and they have never once let us or our pets down. Their service is always exemplary. I must praise two of the team especially though, Miles and Eve, both of whom always go the extra mile - their compassion and understanding are second to none and they are both an asset to the practice. This became even more apparent when we had to say goodbye to Oscar recently....their support was very much appreciated. Thanks once again to Miles, Eve & the team! If you are considering choosing Green Lane Vets for your pet's health and care then you will not be disappointed!
