Lovely knowledgeable staff. We've been taking our dogs and cats here for years. Always treated them well. A little pricey but I think all vets are now.

Our dog Stevie arrived at Wicstun as an emergency case when she was unable to stay at our local vets for treatment. Considering that we are not registered at Wicstun and had never had any previous interaction with them, the genuine care and compassion they showed Stevie was incredible. Every member of staff we came across during her treatment was brilliant — from the efficient and welcoming ladies at reception, to the many different nurses who were all so kind and gentle with Stevie, and of course the vet who saved her life, Katrina Summerton. We could not have wished for a better vet to take care of our lovely Stevie, Katrina was simply AMAZING. From start to finish Katrina was fantastic. She remained proactive and positive despite us arriving with Stevie in a very poorly state. She acted quickly but with real compassion, and managed to get to the bottom of what was wrong with Stevie incredibly quickly. Her communication with us throughout the entire process was excellent. She phoned regularly with updates and always explained clearly what was happening and what the next steps would be. Katrina also kept us informed about the cost at every stage and made sure that everything being done for Stevie was within our means, so there were no unexpected surprises when it came to paying the bill. We are so grateful to Katrina and the whole team at Wicstun for the care they gave Stevie. It was an extremely upsetting time for us as a family and the kindness shown towards us from everyone there made it slightly easier to bear. We will never forget it. Thank you!

(Note: this review is from John , Jan’s husband, as Jan was bed bound at the time). Our Bearded Collie, Maisie, was taken (terminally as it as found) ill at teatime on a Friday. The receptionist managed to fit her in at 5.30 that evening. Sadly, she had to be pts and the procedure was carried out in a faultless kindly manner. When it was all over I was left on my own with Maisie, and a box of tissues, for as long as I needed. After settling the bill the receptionist asked me to be careful driving home. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.

My cat has been visiting Wicstun for two years, and it is the best vets we've ever been to. Great for check-ups, even greater in emergencies. Staff are always wonderful and kind, vets understanding and reasonable. The new cat clinic is particularly outstanding! My cat had never been to the vets in the first 9 years of his life before I adopted him, so naturally he gets anxious! However he calmed down in the waiting room, so much so when he went for his consult, he was lying on the table quite happy to be touched by a stranger!

I HIGHLY recommend this veterinary hospital! My dog had suffered an injury to her left side and needed stitching immediately. Our vets were in York, but as we were in Market Weighton, I rang this vets, they were 100% professional from the receptionist answering the phone and keeping me calm when I forgot which insurance was for Harleyquinn. All the staff were so kind and lovely, the surgery is immaculate, major plus, as we've had a bad experience at another vet's! We are now several weeks on, and the wound is healing well, with no complications at all. This hospital is now our veterinary hospital, the 40 mile round trip for peace of mind is worth it!!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you so much, everyone 💖
