Recently visited this vets due to an emergency with my cat. They were quick to answer phone lines and offered me a slot around an hour later. My cat was quickly taken in for triage and I had a follow up meeting shortly after with another vet. All staff were kind, sensitive and caring in a very stressful time. Thanks so much!

We took my dog to AandE at Bury, he is registered there. From making the phone call and seeing the vet was faultless. The staff were professional caring and friendly. My dog ended up being hospitalised and the care he received was second to none. He is a nervous dog and we were reassured he if showed signs of anxiety they would give him something. We were kept updated and could ring up whenever we wanted. I would recommend this vet to anyone we travel from Failsworth. In my opinion that’s how good they are.

I have been a client of this practice for years, hold an insurance plan with them, and have never once raised a complaint. I want that on record before I describe what happened. I visited to collect a repeat prescription for my dog. The receptionist was hostile from the moment I approached the desk. She was xenophobic, demeaning, and unprofessional in a way I have never experienced in any customer-facing environment in over thirteen years of living in this country. She mumbled under her breath while serving me, performed confusion every time I spelled my name despite me spelling it three times and using the NATO phonetic alphabet twice, and spent more time treating me with contempt than it took her to do her actual job. I was patient throughout. I told her repeatedly I was happy to wait. I was not difficult. I was not rude. I was a paying client collecting medication for my dog. I raised a formal complaint. The practice manager, Marcus, responded without once contacting me to take my account. He relied on the receptionist's own statement and silent CCTV footage - footage with no audio - to dismiss an allegation of verbal xenophobic abuse. He then declared himself satisfied that she had acted appropriately and closed the matter. When I challenged this, he did it again. This practice conducted a sham investigation, accepted the word of the accused without scrutiny, and used evidence that is physically incapable of capturing verbal conduct to dismiss a discrimination complaint. That is not an oversight. That is a choice. I am escalating to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Veterinary Client Mediation Service, and my solicitor. I have also cancelled my insurance plan. If you are from an ethnic minority (or any minority for that matter) background, please think carefully before registering here.

POOR SERVICE If I could give 0 starts I would! We took our dog to the vet as he was shaking and refusing to eat. During the appointment we was told our dog had a blockage in his intestine and needed surgery which was not cheap. After the surgery the veterinarian said they made a call not to take out part of the intestine which they then left potentially necrotic (dead) intestine in. We then had to wait 3 days for a follow up appointment. We took our dog in 2 days after the surgery as he had runny stool with blood in (we showed her pictures of this) , didn’t have much of an appetite and was lethargic he was also shaking still. We stated all this to the vet on that day who carried out the surgery previous. She then took him in the back and performed a scan ( she said the scan was free ). She came out and said everything looked well and there was nothing wrong and we may not need to come in for the next day appointment. We still went in for the appointment the next day as he threw up that same night when we got home. We told all of this to another veterinarian (here) but still this veterinarian said everything was fine and nothing was wrong (we were still unsure of this as he had signs that didn’t indicate he was doing well) we was told he didn’t need another appointment for 5 or so days. A few days later we noticed bruising on our dog and his tummy was spongy. We straight away took him to the vet where we seen a man ( who was quite rude and was not helpful in explaining how this happened) he told us there was bloody fluid in his tummy and his intestine had leaked . He also stated this must have been going on for a few days (even though we was told our dog was fine and everything looked good ) he said this would be anywhere from 5k upwards and with all the time spent after the surgery could be anywhere to 10k and insurance probably couldn’t cover that. All of this happened because a vet made the WRONG call, We lost OUR dog because a vet made the WRONG call. We lost our baby because 2 vets missed that the intestine was leaking. Do not come here if your dog needs a serious surgery. They did not seem to care nor did they seem to even know what was going on (or want to admit they made the wrong call) . We did everything on our part! Everything! Even took our baby to the vets when we KNEW something was not right! And they missed it! All the signs were there and they brushed it off and said everything was fine! POOR SERVICE! Our family is heartbroken!

I had a really positive experience at Armac Veterinary. I took my cat in because he had something in his right eye, and before even starting the check‑up, the vet took the time to explain everything in detail so I understood exactly what she was going to do. She was incredibly kind, gentle, and responsive throughout the whole visit. She carried out a scan as well as a full examination, checking my boy with great care. Thankfully, nothing major was found just some debris in his eye and she prescribed antibiotic eye drops to help him heal. I really appreciated how patient, thorough, and reassuring she was. It made the whole experience much easier for both me and my cat. Highly recommended.

We’ve used Armac for emergency out of hours care on several occasions. It’s always easy to book in an appointment, 24 hours a day. All the staff are friendly, helpful and compassionate.

This practice is a nightmare, they have no idea what they are doing, they are not returning calls although promised. I went with two kittens for a healthcheck and for worming treatment. The vet asked if I wanted to get them vaccinated as well and I told him that I read that kittens should not be vaccinated if they haven't been wormed at least 2 weeks earlier, he said that it's fine to vaccinated them and it doesn't matter if they have been wormed or not. Well as it turned out it's not fine as the vaccine may not be effective at all and this is not a standard guidance. After the vaccination one of the kittens got diarrhoea so I went back but I've been told that it's probably from the vaccine and that they cannot give the kitten anything for it. I got 2 sachets of probiotic. Couple of days later it got worse to the point that the kitten went to litter box 4 times within 1h so I went back for emergency visit. I brought stool samples as well. This time I've been you'd that it's probably worms so they have given him worm treatment again and some paste to give him for 3 days. I've been told that the lab results will be back within 1 week. I have called 1 week later no results, the kittens still has diarrhoea so Ive asked to speak to vet as its been over 2 weeks, the kitten doesn't gain weight and I'm now really worried. I've been told that the vet will call me back. Guess what? no phone call. I called the next day and Ive been assured that I'm on the list for a phone call that day. We'll it's 3 days later still no phone call and no results. I have oaud fir those 2 vusits £480 for what?? If I could give negative stairs I would. I should've gone with different vet especially that they have failed to diagnose my older cat on time and when I went 3 months later with him it was too late to do anything to save him as he had advanced lymphoma and my cat died 6 weeks later 😢. Stay away of you can!!!

We had an unexpected trip to the emergency vets and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. The staff were so caring and super reassuring during such a stressful time. Their love for animals shines. Their prices were so reasonable and about 1/4 of the price we’d been quoted by another surgery. This really helped to relieve stress and we could just focus on getting our dog feeling better. Thank you!

We had to take our dog to the emergency vets unexpectedly, and I can’t praise the team enough. They were so kind, calm, and professional from the moment we arrived, which really helped during what was a stressful evening. The lady vet who treated our dog was absolutely lovely — gentle, patient, and you could tell she genuinely cared. Everything was explained clearly, with no pressure or confusion, and they made sure we understood every step of the treatment. It felt like they truly had our dog’s best interests at heart. For an emergency visit, the cost was very reasonable and in line with our normal vet, which was great to see. I’d wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone — such caring, genuine people who made a difficult situation so much easier.

We had to visit this emergency vets unexpectedly, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a kinder or more professional team. From the moment we arrived, they were calm, reassuring, and genuinely caring — both towards us and our pet. A special mention to the lady vet who carried out the treatment — she was absolutely wonderful. The staff took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we understood all our options without ever feeling pressured. You can tell they truly love what they do. Considering it was an emergency appointment, the prices were very fair and completely in line with our usual vet. I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone who finds themselves needing urgent care — truly lovely people who went above and beyond for us!
