After coming to check the opening hours and catching sight of some negative reviews, I just had to write my own. We’ve been with Ash House Vets for 15 years now and, during that time, Steve, Nikkie and Ali have looked after our pets as if they were their own. Our rescue tabby, Kitty, was with us for 10 years. She suffered with pathogenic alopecia and granulomas, which were a nightmare to treat and eventually led to steroids and kidney failure. She was never a well cat, bless her, but we knew that when we took her on. When the time came to let her go, it was during the height of the pandemic. Kitty was sedated and brought out to us so we could say our final goodbye properly. Nikkie was so incredibly kind. She knew I was utterly heartbroken and, because of the COVID restrictions, there was nothing more they could do to allow me to be with Kitty as she properly crossed the rainbow bridge. A few days later, when we collected her ashes, we were given a vial of her fur and a card from the team. It was such a touching gesture and I still have them both. Reg is an old man cat now, but still with us. Over the last 15 years he’s had all of his teeth removed (bar the front fangs!), UTIs, urine crystals and pancreatitis — all treated by AHV. They’ve also cared for our Doberman for the last 6 years through bouts of diarrhoea and skin rashes, all treated quickly and efficiently. Nikkie also handles all insurance claims for me, which I really appreciate. I rarely have to do anything other than ask them to submit the paperwork, as the team have excellent processes in place. Is there a separate charge for this? No — although, realistically, services like this are probably factored into consultation and treatment fees to cover overheads. Nikkie is also a qualified nutritionist and has given me advice on that side of things too, which I’ve never once been charged for. One thing I particularly value is that Steve and the team always explain what’s going on medically, why ‘X’ is happening and what the treatment plan is. That may not matter to everyone, or others may feel it a little condescending but personally, I prefer to be kept in the loop. Unless something changes — and it hasn’t in over a decade — I’ll stay with Ash House Vets. I’ve never had a reason to leave. They ‘know’ our pets and we trust them implicitly.

I've been taking my Shih Tzu here for the last 5 years and always get a great service. We're on the pet plan and it's very good value. The staff are really friendly and the vet, Steve, is brilliant.

Sooty was a frequent flier to this practice, he loved his cuddles from Ali and and rest of staff, he has truly had the best care from a vets practice, Steve and the team go above and beyond, sadly I said goodbye to Sooty today the staff could not do enough for me, explained what happens next for example, literally so compassionate, thankyou Steve and team

Wouldnt go to this vet , the way that they treated my elderly cat was absolutely abombinable, took my very ill cat to them mutiple times and instead of thinking of all possible options they just handed us chicken paste which obviously my poor cats stomach couldnt handle. They never once suggested royal canim recovery food , we had to think of that one ourselves. They told us twice that it would be a good option to put our cat down. Our cat got a whole happy 2 years before he got ill again and passed away. Thank god we decided not to listen. Their whole attitude and lack of compassion is just astonishing. Ended up switching over to another vets

I have 4 cats, three of which are over 18 years old with thyroid issues. I used to go to Vets 4 Pets in Farnham but since Roger was let go, they have gone drastically downhill. So I thought I would try a local independent vet, where we would see just the one vet who would get to know my cats and treat and care for them just as Roger had. So I turned up with one of my cats in a cat carrying bag, all safe and tucked up with me. She travels this way as she gets very stressed and tends to get UTIs when she visits the vet. There is nothing wrong this carry bag and it is quite safe, she is zipped into it and it is on my shoulder so she is safely tucked up underneath my arm. As long as she is near me and can feel me, she is fine and not as stressed out as she would be in a carrier. So we arrived there and I was told that she needed to be in a carrier. When I explained why I was told that the vet wouldn't accept it and was told to go outside and wait outside to be called in. Bearing in mind, this is my first time in this practice, so I was a bit disgruntled to be treated so shabbily. Next thing is I get a phone call from the receptionist saying that the vet wouldn't see us because she wasn't in a carrier!! At this point, I said I wasn't going back. I got home and got an email from the vet calling himself DOCTOR Johnson saying they were withdrawing Veterinary services. As none of my cats had received any veterinary services, it is a bit difficult to withdraw services never provided. And that there were notices in the waiting room saying cats had to be in carriers but as I pointed out, I didn't get much time in the waiting room before being told to leave. This is all about the safety of my cat. How can she be any safer if she is tucked up in my arms? Also, I really don't think there was any reason to email me to withdraw their services. I am the customer and I decide who I want to treat my cats, not some arrogant prat who thinks that because he is a doctor he can act like a dictator. If he was a G.P., he would have been sacked for his poor attitude towards patients. What was really bad was that instead of having the balls to talk to me, he did it through his staff and then by email. So it shows what an arrogant, spineless bully he is if he can't fight his own battles. And if he cared for animals, he would also understand that I was doing all I could to keep my cat as stressfree as possible, with her welfare in mind. So his attitude clearly shows he cares more about himself than he does animals and I wouldn't let him anywhere near me let alone my cats. If I could give a minus star rating I would. If I were you and looking for a local caring vet, I would give Ash House Vets a miss. The staff are lovely but their boss is a world class plonker!

There's nothing I could possibly say, that comes close to how amazing this vetinary practice is. Every member of the team shows true care and compassion, to not only the animals, but their owners too. Even if I moved 100's of miles away, they would still be my go to.

First time and most likely last time. I owed many many pets in my life and I have never felt so robbed. Less than 10min in the premises and an £8 eye drop to get out with a 100£ bill. I get a consult can be around 60-70£ but that’s a bit steep when the vet didn’t even touch the dog. No health check besides a look at the eye with conjunctivitis from a distance. No question on history or anything else. The bill is still making me feel sick. Being nice and polite was the only positive, hence the 1 star

I went for the first time today at 9 am as my cat needed an emergency treatment. Never been a customer. A very friendly receptionist booked me in for 9.40, and gave me a lot of advice. I didn't need any papers or history proof. Came late as not having a cage, my cat ran off and had to chase him. It was not a problem, and in fact I was given a free cage for the cat which i took home. The vet was super friendly, i was invited in, he explained everything and in my opinion was very professional. i have paid less for the visit that I was asked at PetsHome. After treatment, again very friendly staff. Therefore I was very happy, hope my baby is going to feel better soon, I cannot fault anything, therefore I am surprised at some of the worst reviews
