Absolutely horrific experience. My dog was dragged forcefully into the room without me. I had no choice but to talk about his health issues in front of everybody in the waiting room . After their 'head to toe' check up they didn't notice lumps on his belly that are sticking out neither his front teeth which are hanging on a tread. Say well out from the 'care' like this. Nothing was resolved because the practice didn’t respond to multiple attempts of communication, they ignored complaints submitted via email and online form and only really responded when mediation service got involved. And even then they wrote a dismissive letter. Absolutely atrocious service and attitude of the manager!

Took my cat to city vets in march for his booster injection the place was like a building site took him back last week ( September) even worse with workmen and tools all over the place. My cat had an open sore on his leg which they didn't know what it was they gave me cream to apply I asked if it was dangerous because of the cat licking it to be told go to a pet shop they sell protective cones .I was charged £49 when I read the instructions for the cream it was for dogs only and no way to be used for cats .Raging is an understatement never take a pet there again . We had a positive day with our dog here, we recently visited another vet who is mentioned in some negative reviews for here but our dogs behaviour there was very unusual, compared to his good behaviour here at city vets. We wanted to change vets due to peoples opinions on this vets and some negative reviews we have seen, but until something happens to us personally.. we wont try change again. I have experienced both vets and my preference is here. Here at city vets each staff member talked to our dog in a calming, friendly manner, even the receptionist did. He was nervous about going into the room with the vet but they didn’t force him into it and the vet actually came out to him. Communication is important for the owners but it is just as important for the animal who's seeking treatment (no one spoke to our dog in the other vets) The staff’s attitude here really made a difference for our dogs experience, well so I believe. On our first visit here a year ago we weren't as keen, I do think it depends on the vet you get that day, but thats a more personal thing and nothing to do with professionalism. Other than that, they get the job done.

Good diagnosis and care advice. Couldn't go into the vet with our cat and had to wait outside. There is no outside sign; we only found it because we could hear dogs barking.

I had a dreadful experience with my 16-year-old Lhasa Apso. He had been visiting this clinic for several years and developed a bleeding issue in his mouth. I brought him down to be told it was his teeth and it’s a non emergency so we scheduled it an extraction for a few days. The following day, the bleeding returned. Peter, seemed very hesitant to take him in again, even saying, “he won’t bleed out like” as he brought my dog in that morning. I called at 2 PM as instructed, and they assured me everything was fine, telling me to pick him up at 6:30 PM. When I arrived, I was met by the veterinarian who informed me there was nothing more they could do, right in the middle of the shopping center, without any privacy. Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had. Their approach to the situation was shocking; they were clueless about what had happened to my dog and their lack of compassion in handling it was horrendous. They had to call the main vet from another location, meaning they already knew what was going to happen before 6:30 PM. When we were finally taken into the room, just moments after my dog had been given the injection , a staff member came in to discuss the costs of cremation and showed me various urns also incorrectly stating he was 15 and a Shitzu. It was unbearable; while saying goodbye is never easy, this was far from what I had expected. After visiting other local vets, the contrast is striking. Take care of your furry friend and steer clear of this veterinary clinic.

ERSPlease, for the sake of your pet, avoid this place. They are unprofessional, dirty and most certainly not patient friendly. I was told my dog had heart disease and was given heart tablets, at a cost of £90 for 3 weeks supply. This was "diagnosed" without a scan, blood tests or successful heart sounding( my dog was panting and distressed so they could not hear his heart). I went to another vet for a second opinion. They scanned my dog and found no evidence of heart disease or fluid around the heart. Blood tests showed another condition, which is highly treatable and manageable. The stress City Vets caused to our family was immense and unforgivable. We were basically told by them there was nothing they could do and advised us to put him in emergency overnight care, with their heads tilted to the side. By the way, we had no face to face consultation with an actual vet...everything was relayed through a vetinary assistant. Heart tablets were actually administered to my distressed dog in the public waiting area. This became a laughing pantomime with other customers, as my dog was spitting the tablets out! I am writing this because I don't want any other pet owner to experience this sloppy, dangerous and money grabbing practice.

A year ago our family Husky, Sky, wasn’t eating so we brought him here as it was his normal vets, they gave him an x-ray of his stomach and found nothing wrong so they sent him home with different food and a calorie dense drink to help him regain some of the nutrients he had lost. We didn’t believe there was nothing wrong so we brought him to a different vets for a second opinion, Sky had a tumour so large they couldn’t even see his stomach on the x-rays which how City Vets missed this is completely unbelievable and unacceptable. Absolutely avoid at all costs!

Avoid this place. Brought my older dog in a week or 2 ago for her injections. I had previously been with another vets before hand. After her injection I was told there was lots of infection around her mouth and she would likely need to have some teeth extracted. I had her in today for her dental procedure and I was told there actually was no infection and just a build up of plaque etc. when I questioned why did the first vet say there was infection the nurse brought out the vet who done the procedure today, he then pulled open her mouth and started touching areas in her mouth that was red raw, this was very clearly causing her discomfort, I had to ask him to stop touching inside her mouth 3 times before he actually did stop. I immediately cancelled the follow up appointment I had for her in a few weeks and will be going back to my old vets.
