We got sent here Friday night with our beloved pixie our cat unfortunately she was to far gone and best to pts I found a lovely man who went to collect our girl to take her to be collected someone with empathy who knew our cat was our family upon arrival my cat was in the communal cremation bag which I already told the vet I would be finding someone to collect her the following morning and it’s a good Job or she’d of been taken away with the communal bag a bag this is someone’s pet someone’s family member she went in with her favourite thing she loved a dressing gown we told the vet how much it was her comfort please tell me why when the person went to collect her the dressing gown I’d already said she was in wasn’t with her they’d spent a while to go and look for it so they’d most likely thrown in the skip these are people we trust to make the last steps nice for our pets family I’m so disappointed they’d put her in that bag and away from her gown

Needed help and they were there. Just cost a fortune but my Mimi cat needed help. Fingers crossed she doesn't need more treatment. She is still not quite there but eating and resting

Avoid this place. I took our German shepherd guard dog on a sat evening.they charged me £302 for an initial consultation fee. The vet sait best option was to put her down. Said it would be £2200 to keep her in for the rest of the night with blood tests. Luckily I didn’t put her down I took her somewhere else that put her on a drip for the Sunday afternoon then antibiotics for a week. She is now back to her self and bouncing round. Continuing to gain weight each day I just presumed they would have the ethos of help the dog rather than worst case senario. Hopefully the vid of her now a week and half later uploads.

I only googled Yorkshire vets thornbury to get the postcode for an insurance claim after they cared for my very sick dog over night and saw the previous review was a personal attack against a staff member. Said staff member has been helping me get my insurance forms in order and she’s been lovely and doesn’t deserve the online abuse. The vets and staff are all really nice, they absolutely do know what they are doing, they don’t go diving in recommending expensive and invasive procedures right off the bat with hidden charges and I’ve had many tubes of probiotic for my pooch who suffered with worms as a puppy and they worked a treat. It’s a non-invasive first step to resolving an issue and going to a vets saying I know better I give her kefir is not how you should treat your pet. They are the experts, listen to them. They take the time to talk through exactly what is going on and the possible approaches to resolve any issue, and I’d recommend signing up to their pet health club which includes free consultations so you don’t fear a bill every time you have a minor concern you just want to ask a question about. No issue is too small to them as they do really care about the animals they look after and want to help you be the best owner you can be. Oh and as a prime example, my dog gets excited about going to the vets as she loves all the staff there, but as a result it’s difficult to get an accurate blood pressure reading with all the excitement. Instead of constantly doing reading after reading and saying ‘oh this isn’t good’, instead I got a ‘look, she’s so happy and bouncing around, I don’t think the result is a genuine result, and I’m not going to take another reading today as I know it will be a false positive again and you’ll just be paying for dodgy results. Let’s wait a month when she’s due a vaccine, make sure she’s nice and tired pre-appointment, and we can just check again then out of an abundance of caution, but her behaviour is not concerning so don’t worry about it.’ I have a lovely vets practice, who I can get an on the day appointment with, and as a result I have a happy and healthy dog which makes me a happy owner!

Took our dog Belle to be spayed , was told about the procedure in full when dropping her off . Was called after the surgery to let me know Belle had come round and was in recovery . On collection it was again explained what Belle had had done, that she had eaten a small amount of food . Was given an aftercare sheet annd pain relief, and a follow up appointment made . Receptionists and nursing staff were all pleasant and made us feel very welcome . We have used Yorkshire vets for our animals for over 10yrs now and are happy with their care
