Fantastic vet not only healing camelids but also teaching breeders and vets from many contries, including Poland. I have participated in some courses in person and on-line and it has been always highest professionalism and a huge amount of helpfull information.
Clare, many thanks for your hard work because in this way you saved indirectly many alpacas also in Poland :-)

As a co-owner of Briery Hill Llamas we have used Claire's services as a Camelid Specialist for over 9 years. Her expertise is invaluable and her training courses are second to none. I recommend her courses to anyone who has camelids, you won't be disappointed with what you learn.

Can not recommend Claire and this clinic more. I had an orphaned cria who had been born severely premature and had a heart condition on top. I was given such thorough and thoughtful advice on what the next best steps were going to be, and what to expect. The care shown to myself and my little alpaca, Sid, was second to none. I am from Australia and alpaca vets are difficult to come by, so to have her take the time to help despite being in a different country meant so much to me. Although I sadly lost my boy, having been able to consult with you enabled me to feel like I gave him every best possible chance, and I would do it all over again. The service you provide is worth its weight in gold and I truly hope you know how appreciated you are!

We have Louie our Llama who is very sadly of his back legs with arthritis. We contacted Claire for advice and our vet had a telephone consultation for approximately 45 minutes. Claire invoiced me which I did pay. £180 works out at £4 per minute!
Ps Louie is doing OK as we have made provision for his disability-he is perfectly fine...

Just the best alpaca specialist! My cria needed leg surgery and Claire was the only person i would entrust with her care. Completely successful surgery and everyone at the practice gave cria and her dam the very best possible care. The facilities are superb . Being a camelid only specialist means they really understand alpacas and the relaxing environment helps settle the patients. If your alpaca needs any treatment just get referred here!

Hello :-) I would like to offer my updated, opinion of my experience with Camelid Veterinary Services Ltd, Goring Heath, Reading.
We took two of our Alpacas to Claire last year (2024), one of which had a nasty infection that had destroyed a large part of its jawbone, Claire carried out an operation to remove this part of the jaw, as our local vets, despite much effort had been unable to stop the infection over a continued period of time.
The operation was successful, we followed Claires aftercare instructions and "Frostie" fully recovered, you would never know she had been unwell, her jaw and face look beautiful, she is now happy, healthy and looking perfect, a year later, (as I write this updated review), she is a beautiful 4 year old girl, with lots more years ahead of her, I cant thank Claire and her team enough!
The reason I am writing this a year later is because The second Alpaca that travelled with Frostie, "Torie" had been unable to conceive , Claire and her team investigated and carried out some procedures and this year "Torie" now has a healthy Cria at foot and looks very happy to be a Mum at long last!
Thank you so much to Claire and her team for the care and commitment to "Torie" who is a very Proud Mummy!
We have also used Claire two years running for Faecal Testing to check our Herd for worm eggs and coccidia burdens, this process is made easy by Claire and her team and offers peace of mind with your Herd, the first year we had some parasites detected and this enabled us to treat the affected Herd and prevent any real problems, we have just dropped off this years samples!
Claire is very knowledgeable and I trust her implicitly and would thoroughly recommend her as anyone's point of contact if you need any help with anything to do with alpacas.
THANKYOU again to Claire and All her Team, with an extra big thank you from Frostie and Torie :-)

Claire and Camelid Veterinary Services have been amazing over the years. She's always got great advice and is willing to talk things through with our local vets, who don't have much alpaca experience.
She's been out to help us with herd health checks and pregnancy scanning and gives so much information. She's helped us through a season of 5+ premature cria and the necessary plasma transfusions. We send all our fecal samples to Camelid Vet and they are processed very quickly with detailed advice on next steps.
It's always an amazing experience.

Excellent service. Communication is very good between the lab and customer, the results are detailed and very quick, and explanations of any worming needed are clear. If any clarification is needed, they’re quick to respond to queries. I assume it’s a fairly large lab / practice, but the service provided always seems very personal. Definitely recommend!

Claire delivered an absolutely brilliant talk on camelid medicine for vet students at the Cambridge Farm Animal Veterinary Society. The talk was very informative and engaging, with plenty of anecdotes in between. There were also plenty of great discussions. Camelid medicine is not something that we receive huge amounts of teaching on in the veterinary curriculum, but Claire's talk gave the students a lot more confidence on how to approach a camelid case. Thank you so much for coming Claire - we would love to have you back!
