Highly recommend Chester Gates! Our cat was taken in due to a sudden collapse episode and the vets were simply amazing. On arrival; Laura greeted us and was fantastic with getting Blue seen too straight away, explaining everything and dealing with my tears (sorry Laura). He was kept in overnight and passed over to the Cardiology department and looked after extremely well by Mattia who is quite simply a very clever and kind man. He explained everything in detail answered all our questions and even spoke to us on the phone when we got home! We couldn’t ask for more honestly. Thank you so much! Xxx

The level of professionalism and care has been outstanding A special thank you to Dr. Luis, who operated my dog Rolo and all the staff involved with him. Luis was incredibly knowledgeable and He took the time to show me the MRI images and discuss the options clearly and made me feel completely confident that my dog was in the best possible hands. An absolutely amazing veterinary practice, cannot be faulted. If you are looking for a oncology specialist and a vets that will be thorough in their findings, treatments and care, I would highly recommend ChesterGates. I was absolutely beside myself when my dog Ishka had a mastectomy at our home vets and results came back as cancerous. Chestergates booked us in for a referral appoint the next week and the initial consultation with Nina was so thorough and transparent and all required further investigations were carried out on the same day (full body CT scan, bloods and biopsies). All were sent off to another specialist again highlighting how thorough the investigations are, fortunately her cancer has not spread so treatment is preventative going forward . Nina and her team were so caring with Ishka who is usually terrified of vets. We have received full reports and options for chemotherapy treatment to research into and make joint decisions going forward. In such a difficult time, finding the right people to help is key. Can't fault this practice for their animal-centric approach and thank you so much to Nina and her team for the exceptional level of care and investigations. Though regular checks will be required and chemo may be difficult I will now have my girl for many many years to come. Thank you, Sophia & Ishka

Massive thank you to Rocio, Staff and all the Neurology team for their fantastic care. Recently my Pomeranian dog Nala became ill and was referred for an MRI scan where she had an overnight stay at ChesterGates. Through tests/scans we now have a diagnosis which has given us peace of mind. Nala is recovering at home and is on the mend.. this is now the start of her journey to recovery. I would recommend ChesterGates as they’re so caring and really do look after your pets. They go above and beyond and exceeded mine and my mum’s expectations. Rocio gave us an in-depth report on the findings of Nala’s tests which gave ys more of an understanding on the diagnosis. Nala will be back in a few weeks for reassessment and I’m really happy with the level of care Nala has recieved. I couldn’t recommend ChesterGates more!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of Chestergates Veterinary Hospital. One of my cats was referred last year to the neurology department, and from start to finish the care was exceptional. The team were incredibly thorough during her work-up and have continued to be wonderfully supportive following her diagnosis. At what was an emotionally difficult time for any pet owner, they took the time to explain everything clearly, answer questions honestly, and ensure both my cat and I felt cared for every step of the way. My second cat was later referred for a cardiology consultation, and once again the experience was outstanding. The cardiologist, Mattia Basili, was exceptionally kind, professional, and reassuring. He was informative, calm, and extremely thorough, taking the time to explain our options in a way that was easy to understand and digest, while never feeling rushed. In both cases, the reception staff were absolutely delightful—warm, friendly, and compassionate, which truly makes a difference when you’re anxious about your pets. In terms of cost, we paid roughly £3,000 for Pendle’s neurological work-up and around £1,500 for Prue’s cardiology referral, and we genuinely feel this represented excellent value for money given the level of expertise, diagnostics, and standard of care provided. Even without insurance, we wouldn't hesitate to pay it. As a veterinary nurse myself, I’m very aware of what happens behind the scenes and I’m also guilty of finding it hard to trust others with my own pets, especially as I’m so used to being present for their procedures and care. However, I can wholeheartedly say that I completely trust the team at Chestergates. Knowing my cats were in such capable, compassionate hands made all the difference. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing referral-level veterinary care.

We rushed Bonnie to Chestergates and honestly from start to finish they’re so helpful ! Finding a trusted vet for your pets hard but from the start on the out of hours visit we made to collecting her sunday after our concerns for IVDD it was all spoken about in a clear and precise manner, full updates throughout ! She underwent MRI and surgery the same day, the collection on Sunday she was basically back to her normal pain free self with all the attention and loves. We appreciate everything from start to finish Thanks to everyone at chestergates, a Vetinary practice who cares unlike most out there who dismiss animals in need
