Normally I don’t write reviews or rate thing but in this case, I’m very happy to do so. This practice Really does seem to care for the well-being of their patients. Highly recommended.

Completely INCOMPETENT. Had instructed the Vets that i had a cat that can not be handled, taking 3 attempts and significant drugs to get him in the carrier for his neutering. The discharging vet didnt close the carrier properly which led to my cat escaping and being outside on his own in Chelmsford with no food or water for 10 weeks. Without a single appology from the practise. They are now ignoring mediation requests from the VCMS. That being said, receptionists were both great and spent a long time trying to help me.

I’ve recently moved to Elm house vets after being with another vets for 15 years. What a breath of fresh air. Not only are they one of the very rare independent vets, they are cheaper by far than others and the staff are some of the most caring and friendly people you would like to meet. I wish that I’d found them earlier. Very highly recommended.

Absolutely awful experience! Our cat was booked in to have some teeth removed, shortly after leaving him with them we received a phone call from a very worried Vet telling us our cat had something stuck in his throat which wouldn’t allow them to get a tube for the anaesthetic. They went ahead and did an xray without our permission and charged us £150 for it. They later told us they couldn’t get in touch with us (yes me and my partner have jobs and not sitting at home all day with our phones, crazy I know) We were then told that our cat would have to be sent to an expert to have a camera down his throat, all for the sum of £2000! The following day we took our cat to Medivet in Danbury and the whole dental care was sorted straight away. No issues, nothing stuck in his throat. Couldn’t have been any simpler. And it was half the price that Elm House were trying to charge us. I’ve seen this whole Vet scandal on the news recently about them over charging and misdiagnosing. I would be very very careful about using this place. The whole thing just seemed very off. Do your research and find a better place. Like I say, I’d recommend medivet in Danbury. Lovely guy in there, helped straight away with no problems and again half the price. We complained to Elm House to try and get some money back and they Just sent the usual rubbish in an email, apparently 3 of the vets have combined experience of over 60 years but couldn’t get a tube down a cats throat. Ridiculous

My cat has not been to these vets for 5 years so I was unsure if he was still on the books. He was and the vet was fantastic, put my mind at rest with is poorly ear. On the mend now and I'm so relieved. Brilliant vets, highly recommend

Brilliant vets. Have been going here for 15 years now and they've cared for our cats and guinea pigs and always done an excellent job.
