We are currently away on holiday near Dolgellau and needed to seek veterinary advice for our cockapoo. Milfeddygon vets were so helpful, initial booking her in and the vet who we saw, were both 5*. Definitely recommend.

My cat was in huge distress with blood clots coming out of his nose and mouth,, I rang the out of hours vets who was brilliant and caring the vet herself couldn’t have been better, at the time she didn’t have the facilities to figure out amounts etc… she just did what she needed to do for the good of the cat who had to be put down and asked me to ring in the next day to arrange payment with the clerical team which I did! I explained that I didn’t have the full amount and could I set up a payment plan even if it was in just 3 parts! They refused! No empathy, no care that I had just lost a member of my family! They are now threatening to take things “further” I’ve never refused to pay just asked for a payment plan to be set up! This has had a huge impact on my mental health! So I would say anyone looking to join a vets go somewhere else! Find a vet that cares about the animals as well as the money ( I understand this is a business with bills to pay) when a vets suggests that had someone who knew how to work the billing system been available had you not been able to pay there and then they would have sent an animal in pain and distress home to die a possible prolonged and painful death well then there’s something seriously wrong with why they are operating!!

Last Tuesday Pm after hours I had to take my Italian Spinone to the vets as she had developed Bloat. They exrayed her and put a tube into the stomach to relieve the pressure, it didnt work so they exrayed her again and inserted the tube again still no joy, the only option was to operate. The vet admitted she had not done this op for a long time and the other option was to drive to Runcorn an hour and a half away for them to operate...she couldn't guarantee she would make it. So I asked if she would operate. I went back to where I was staying to wait. I collected her about 2am, she was still under the influence of the anaesthetic, the practice has no emergency facilities at the moment due to refurbishment. I can't thank the vet and nurses enough for saving her life. I have had her checked over at my vets and she is doing well, went out for a walk today on a long lead, much to her disgust she couldn't get in the water and swim. Thank you all again. We had to visit the vets today with my mums very poorly dog. We are on holiday here and we needed emergency vet treatment. Unfortunately we had to have our sweet girl put to sleep but we were so grateful to all of the staff. The vet was so patient and caring, gave us time to process our sudden loss and we could not have asked for a more thoughtful team to lead us through this terrible time. Thank you so much for all of your patience and understanding.

This practice looked after my Japanese Akita until the end and came out to the house to put him to sleep, so caring as he was in such pain. They now look after my cat Timmy who is a really bad patient, but they take it in their stride and always do their best for him
