All of the people who work in the vets practice are lovely, they are thoughtful of your feelings aswell as your pets. Two of our dogs have been sent over the rainbow bridge and the other two are cared for here. I could not find fault in any of the care. I bring my pets here when we are in scotland because the English vets we had for our pets can not match up. 5 stars all the way

Our Labrador was seen quickly with an appointment made within an hour of my phoning. Our vet Carole gave us plenty of time and expert advice on the best way forward. Thankfully our girl is on the mend. There are works going on to improve the surgery but that didn’t affect our visit.

When I have had to visit the surgery everybody hS been efficient, friendly, and helpful. Every thing has been explained and when a procedure has been necessary this too has been detailed. Costings have been explained. I have never been encouraged to have unnecessary expensive procedures, indeed on one occasion discussing dietary needs, a supper market alternative was reccomended. I have no hesitation in reccomending Accademy Vets.

Having moved to the area in November we had yet to register with a veterinary practice, one of our dogs developed a problem with her rear leg we contacted Academy vets registered and was seen that afternoon. We were delighted to meet vet Carol Philips who was great professional knowledgeable and friendly our dog is very nervous but Carol handled her well. We would highly recommend this practice in Stranraer, in fact we have booked our other three dogs in next week for a check up 👍😀

I honestly couldn’t be more thankful for the amazing care Marlee has received from Academy Vets but in particular Melody who has been absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so warm and welcoming, which instantly put me and Marlee at ease having moved from Wales to Scotland recently. Melody has been so thorough but so gentle and kind after Marlee had been suffering with reoccuring ear issues for over a year. Melody took the time to explain everything clearly so I knew exactly what was going on and what our options were. Melody clearly loves her job and she made us feel that Marlee was not just another patient - that kind of care is rare! Melody is a true asset to Academy Vets - thank you for taking care of my fur baby. I’d recommend Academy Vets in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a vet who will treat your pet as if they were their own. They deserve more than five stars they deserve a sky full🌟

What an amazing practice. Unfortunately we had to take our dog wee Ben to get to put to sleep as you can imagine we were devastated. On entering premises we were met by Chloe who was very sympathetic. She explained the procedure step by step and was very comforting to wee Ben. Once she has administered anaesthetic she left us alone with wee Ben to say our goodbyes and told us to take as long as we needed , she was so sympathetic to our needs. On returning to pick up wee Bens ashes we were met with Fiona who was also very kind and sympathetic . Wee Bens ashes were handed to us very well presented that made a huge difference to us, we also received paw prints and a hair cutting and also in a lovely presentation box with a sympathy card enclosed on the day he was cremated which was a great comfort to us. I cannot thank the practice enough for helping us deal with a very difficult time. Wee Ben was treated with genuine kindness and as our very loved pet. Chloe a big thank you from myself and husband and wee Ben for your care also to Fiona , I'm sorry I couldn't thank you properly due to being upset but you both and the whole team are amazing. I would definitely recommend this practice .

On a recent holiday our cat became ill and we were advised to get him checked at a local vets. The receptionist was very accommodating and gave us an appointment the same day. We cannot thank Academy vets enough for the advice and treatment given at that worrying time.
