We’ve been taking our puppy (Betty) here and have always had a great experience. The team are caring, professional and knowledgeable. They always take the time to answer any questions we have and explain everything so clearly. Our puppy is always so excited to visit, which reflects how friendly and welcoming everyone is. We’re very grateful to have such an amazing vet practice in Twickenham and would happily recommend them to other pet owners.

It has taken me a long time to write this review after such a traumatic event. I am writing this as a family, other pet owners should be aware of our circumstance. We visited King Street Vets only once - and it would be our final and unexpected visit. Our beloved 15-year-old Dog River went in for a routine X-Ray, on a rare day, she was content in the world. As a deaf and nervous dog, we had spent many years putting her needs and welfare first. We joined King Street on the recommendations of our old vets, who were independent. We had phone consultations when River was too nervous to attend, and they were pleasant and accommodating. On the day she died, she went in for a routine X-ray, having had a stroke 6 months before. It was agreed that under no circumstances would she be put under a General Anaesthetic, and that to ensure minimal stress, she would have Diazepam to keep her calm in kennels until her X-ray. River walked only ever on the harness and had attachment anxiety, so that morning, to avoid distress, I didn't say goodbye. She was arthritic and elderly, so would not need any anaesthesia for the X-ray. Later that day, after lunch, I received a phone call to say "River had been 'Naughty' and not to worry, but a nurse had managed to lasso her and drag her out" .... As a family we still struggle to understand why, we were not asked to come and collect her, she was not naught but Deaf and Nervous and as we would later find out, without the care and treatment we had agreed "due to a miscommunication upstairs" On her collar was "Deaf and Nervous" as well as 36 pages of Veterinary History around her anxiety journey and management. 1 Hour later, we were called to tell us to come in as she was having a Seizure, having not recovered from "sedation". We arrived within 10 minutes at a traumatic and distressing sight. River was under deep sedation with a long line attached, a tight slip lead around her neck, tongue out and a non-active heart monitor - ready, we felt she was set up for euthanasia. We were given the X-rays, but not the bloods or the itemised invoice, which shows a General Anaesthetic. You can also see the breathing tube in the X-ray. We were gaslit by the staff into believing that she had a tumour on her brain (without any evidence despite requesting an X-ray after her departure) We were also told once the slip lead had been put around her neck she left her crate willingly - we know our dog well, she wouldn't walk if she didn't want to and with people she didn't want to, she would not have left that crate scared. After four rounds of River recovering and in full seizure and significant distress, we felt the only option we were given was to let her go. She had only attended to find out how, as an old dog, we could make the best treatment plan for her last years or months; she did not deserve to die in such unbelievable distress. As the family were away during this time, we left River in the care of King Street whilst we arranged plans for her and collected her ourselves when they returned. We were offered paw prints in addition to the ones we took ourselves the day she passed. The paw prints we received are not even close to her own paw, and 25% smaller and a totally different shape, someone's dear dog is missing their prints. Having consulted multiple professionals and reviewed all the communication and invoice, there has been significant negligence, and ultimately, we have not been told the truth or the whole story of what happened that day, with various corrections of comments and changes to details of the story. Nothing will bring her back; we are still all shaken and heartbroken. But do believe that, as a new practice, other owners should know and be aware that our previous vets would have called us to pick her up and try another day again... why this didn't happen is far beyond us and ultimately took her from us. We also believe in transparency and have attached the pictures below to help other owners make the choices their pets deserve about their care and confidence.

I can’t speak highly enough of King Street Vets. The kindness and compassion that was shown to us when we recently had to have our 17 year old Jack Russell Ozzy put to sleep was off the scale. Karmen had been treating Ozzy since they opened and he had a few things wrong with him. I think we both didn’t think he would last as long as he did. But with their love and care I had about 3 more years with him. I asked for Karmen on the day and everyone of my requests were catered for. Thank you to all of you that helped make Ozzys passing more bearable. We cannot put into words how much your compassion and kindness helped us. Thank you all for being you. All our love Sarah, Ben, Spot, Boss, Pepa and Moo xxx

I honestly couldn’t rate King Street Vets more highly. My Labrador, Queenie, has a number of ongoing health issues and allergies, which has been incredibly distressing to manage at times. Ever since we moved to King Street from a much less good vet, the difference has been remarkable. From the very beginning, Karmen and Filipe have been outstanding — not only clinically excellent, but also kind, patient, and deeply reassuring. They’ve helped us navigate Queenie’s complex needs with such thoughtful, constructive, and easy‑to‑understand advice. Every treatment plan has been clearly explained, carefully considered, and tailored specifically to her, which has made a huge difference to both Queenie’s wellbeing and my own peace of mind. I also want to give a special shout‑out to Filipe, who is currently managing Queenie’s second cruciate ligament rupture with real expertise and care. The standard of treatment and support throughout has been exceptional. And it’s not just Karmen and Filipe — the whole team are fantastic: warm, helpful, and genuinely caring, which makes every visit so much easier. Despite everything she’s been through, Queenie still wags her tail when we arrive at the front door, which says it all. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a brilliant practice looking after her — they truly go above and beyond.

I honestly cannot thank the team at King Street Vets enough for the care, compassion, and support they have shown my dogs over the years. Most recently, they treated my dog Audrey as an emergency and got her in straight away. The care she received was absolutely incredible — attentive, gentle, and genuinely from the heart. You can tell every single member of the team truly cares about the animals they look after. They were also there for me during one of the hardest moments, when I had to say goodbye to my dog Goldie. The kindness, patience, and compassion they showed during that time meant more to me than words can express. They made such a painful experience feel held and supported, and I will never forget that. King Street Vets have always gone above and beyond, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pets. Vet surgeon Carmen Vet surgeon Phill, and all of your amazing team thank you for everything you do, and the love you show my precious fur babies. Love Jade and Audrey 🐾

I had a great experience at this veterinary practice. My dog, Bobby, wasn’t registered there but became extremely sick over a couple of days. Feeling panicked and unsure what to do, I called this local vet and they were incredibly helpful, registering us over the phone and booking us in within the hour. When Bobby needed treatment, the vet took the time to explain the options available, which I really appreciated. All his future appointments will now be at this practice, highly recommend :)

Very professional and genuinely caring team. They looked after our hamster, Babalina, with so much passion, patience, and understanding. It was clear she was in safe and compassionate hands from start to finish. We felt truly supported and informed throughout the visit. Highly recommend 10/10!

Best vet ever. Karmen always goes the extra mile to sort any problem out. This is the only vet over many years with different dogs that my dog will walk in without trying to drag me out the door This is because all the staff are so friendly and helpful . Highly recommended

Karmen and all the team at King Street Vets are amazing. My two dachshunds, Sherlock and Watson having being going here for years and no matter what is happening you get a warm and friendly service that puts your mind at ease! I recently had Sherlock in for a checkup and my eight year old son came with me. When we left he said, I’d love to work somewhere like that when I’m older, everyone is so happy and kind. Never a truer word spoken. Thank you King Street Vets!

Fantastic vets, I’d recommend to everyone. Karmen and her team have looked after Zara, dog & Bruce, cat so well. Bruce has had a long journey from being attacked to now back being a very naughty, happy purring 3-legged cat and the team supported us through the whole journey. Thank you-
