I originally took my dogs to Julia 3 years ago. They were 12 years old. At the time Haggis had developed a very severe anal gland infection. Despite my very competent conventional vets best efforts it just went from bad to worse. These infections had been happening each year and every time getting worse but this time it just would not respond to antibiotics at all. He was also arthritic and could not jump or run anymore without totally seizing up afterwards. He also developed a nasty looking growth on his back leg. Within a week of being treated by Julia (using acupuncture and Chinese herbs) the green pus from the anal gland infection had gone and within 10 days the infection was completely gone. It has never returned despite being a recurring problem in the past. On top of which he soon started running and jumping in his usually playful manner (we obviously do not let him over do it because of his age) and he no longer seizes up afterwards. The growth on his leg receded and eventually completely disappeared. It has only recently returned and is already responding to Julia's treatment once again. He is now 15 years and 3 months young and going strong! His sister Minnie started to go to Julia when she became bladder incontinent at night age 12. This is apparently a result of hormone problems caused by being spayed when younger. The conventional vet offered hormone treatment. I decided to try Julia instead. Using the same methods as with Haggis but different Chinese herbs, very quickly Julia had Minnie dry again. She also was arthritic and this too responded very well to the treatment. She is also 15 years and 3 months and still going strong. My dogs have good quality of life despite their age thanks to Julia. My boar Sausarge, who was a total pet, went off his back legs age 9 as soon as he arrived at our new home. The conventional vet rightly said he had no feeling in his back end at all. She said she was certain he would not walk again and was very sorry but she thought he would have to be euthanised the next day. I called Julia who gave him Chinese herbal formulae and also regular acupuncture, within a week he was back up and walking. He improved in leaps and bounds but sadly later he did have a fall and we were unable to get him back from that. However what she did in terms of getting him up and walking and enjoying life again was absolutely remarkable. It gave him a chance that he otherwise wouldn't have had. She is now treating our chihuahua's heart disease. I cannot recommend her highly enough, if you want to give your animals the best chance at recovery and quality of life go to Julia. She is professional, highly skilled, empathetic and genuine. She is worth every penny. When a friend of mine told our conventional vet she wanted to take her dog to Julia, the vets told her that what Julia had done for my animals was nothing short of miraculous.

We found Julia’s practice through a Google search and were initially impressed by her experience and positive reviews. We thought chiropractic care and acupuncture might complement our dog’s other treatments. While Julia’s background is impressive, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. The initial consultation felt somewhat vague, and despite asking for more detailed explanations, we were often referred back to the price list rather than receiving clarity on the proposed treatment approach. During our meeting, several treatment options were mentioned, but there was little structure or guidance on what might be most suitable for our dog’s specific needs. After the first visit, we received the invoice promptly but no accompanying treatment notes or clear plan for next steps, which left things feeling somewhat unclear and lacking transparency. Although I shared this feedback directly, I didn’t feel it was fully addressed. Overall, while Julia’s credentials are strong, our experience felt unfocused and not aligned with what we were looking for. I wish Julia and her team all the best moving forward.

On Wednesday morning, my doggy was still in a lot of pain with her back from a visit to the seaside the Saturday before. By Thursday evening the treatment had worked and she was able to jump back on the sofa, as well as run around with her brothers and stand up at the window again. We're so pleased - thank you from us and Sylvia :)
