Amazingly caring people doing right by people's pets. They were very helpful sorting my proofs of benefits that they need. Then after two expensive medications and half an hour if the vets time they only ask for a donation. As Patch is my Assistance dog I always have a float in my bank ready for unexpected vet trips, I'm pleased I did as it meant I was able to give them £50 which I felt guilty about it being so little but they were extatic at it so please pay as much as you can afford too and remember your little friend sat besides you could need a vets help at any time, these people were extra ordinary in my humble opinion. My niece arrived there now 8th may she's on benefits and has mental health issues, but lives with her nan, we understood you can donate which she was happy they have charged her 25£ for consultation fees, before any medication has been given. They have asked for proof of housing benefits which she doesn't have only uc, sad that it has come to this, it should be made clear when asking at the desk to establish criteria before treatment very disappointing we feel let down by this once great service..

The only dedicated PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) Pet Hospital in Bristol is this one, Bath Road, Brislington. For anyone living in areas north of the river this could mean quite a journey across the city. I previously explored this when recommending a friend in Fishponds with a sick Bullmastiff to the PDSA. I did not realise the PDSA had a second option - the PDSA Pet Care scheme. Instead of traveling to the pet hospitals, owners can sometimes get treatment at specific vets that partner with the charity. The PDSA is a UK charity with a primary mission to provide free or low-cost veterinary care to the pets of people in need. They operate through a network of PDSA Pet Hospitals. To use these, pet owners need to be receiving means-tested welfare, such as Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support, or Universal Credit. This ensures that animals don't suffer just because their owners are going through financial difficulties. They provide free treatment for owners in the highest need, and low-cost treatment for owners on other types of benefits. In a nation of animal lovers could any better charity exist?

I had a very upsetting experience at this vet hospital, specifically with the reception manager, Sarah. From the moment I approached the desk, she was extremely unkind and unprofessional. She repeatedly interrupted me, raised her voice, and showed no patience or respect. What was even worse is that she spoke about my personal details loudly in front of everyone in the waiting room, with no regard for privacy or confidentiality. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. A reception manager should make clients feel welcome, respected, and cared for especially in a place where people are already stressed about their pets. Instead, Sarah’s behavior made the entire visit upsetting and uncomfortable. I sincerely hope the hospital addresses this, because no one should be treated this way.

Because my circumstances changed I couldn't afford an operation for my cat at the vets I used to take him to. PDSA hospital did the operation for a fraction of the cost and I'm so grateful for the service they provide. My cat has now recovered and is doing so well. The vets there were all very friendly as well, such a great and important service, when my luck and financial situation changes I will be looking to donate to them and I recommend any animal lovers to do the same.
