We just registered our Barney with Briar House and were given a warm welcome by the reception. Ilaria was very thorough and we are very impressed with the service provided. We came away reassured that our Barney will be well cared for. Recommend.

I always feel welcomed by the reception staff in a friendly, efficient and professional manner. All the staff walking from one area to another seem friendly and you can hear them interacting kindly to the pets in the back. Ilaria the vet I have been seeing recently has been so lovely and been the vet who finally figured out what was wrong with my Misty and now Misty has come on in leaps and bounds and is the happiest and most settled I have ever known her, which is such a pleasure to see and a massive relief for me to have been able to get her the help and treatment she needed. I couldn't be more grateful to everyone at Briar House during my dealings with them over the last few months. They have been so lovely to Misty too.

Love this vets. We travel well over an hour to get here as they are specialists in their care and we found it very hard to find a knowledgeable poultry vet. The bonus is that the vets are also excellent in other pet knowledge, like cats in particular the Mainecoon breed. We love to see Cellina as she is not only kind and gentle with our animals but she is so very experienced and has so much knowledge, which is invaluable especially with the birds.

How lucky we are to have an out of hours vets in Thanet. After many years of having to go to Canterbury when there has been an emergency with one of our pets, I was so please to hear of this service covering our area again. Though I am not registered here, I called around 11pm when we noticed one of our cats had a flare up of cystitis that we thought was resolving. With blood in his urine, we wanted to get him double checked that his bladder was not blocked. The person I spoke to on the phone, who turned out to be the lovely nurse who met us was so reassuring and got us booked in and we could go straight away. We were looked after by Ivan, what a truly fantastic vet - and human! I say 'we' were looked after, as you always worry about your pets and he was so lovely with Cosmos and offered me reassurance, quickly confirming that thankfully his bladder wasn't blocked. He spent time to look at Cosmos's health holistically and talked through a care plan for our sweet boy. He made a stressful situation rapidly feel so much better, one of those folk who has that great blend of humour, kindness and detailed information. He got pain relief and anti inflammatories administered (to Cosmos - ha!) and we were on our way, just a short 5 minute drive home. This is such a vital service in Thanet, not having to drive an unwell cat all the way to Canterbury made such a difference. And for it to be such a great experience is why I am here writing this. Thank you. A million thank yous from a very happy cat mumma & Thanet resident!

Exceptional Care When It Mattered Most I cannot express how pleased and relieved I was with my visit to Briar House Veterinary Surgery in Broadstairs. My cat Muffin has been struggling with her breathing, and from the very first phone call I knew we would be in good hands. That initial feeling was fully confirmed the moment my partner and I arrived with Muffin. Enrico, the vet who examined her, was outstanding in every possible way, calm, attentive, deeply knowledgeable, and above all genuinely caring. In a moment of real worry and distress, he treated not only Muffin with exceptional compassion and professionalism, but also us as owners who were anxious and desperate for answers. I have been searching for a veterinary practice that truly cares about animals and the people who love them, and at Briar House I found exactly that. The level of empathy, clarity, and dedication shown was exceptional. A very deep and heartfelt thank you to Enrico and the entire Briar House team for your kindness, professionalism, and humanity. The trust you inspired in such a difficult moment means more than I can say. Without hesitation, first thing tomorrow morning I will be transferring all five of my cats, Muffin included, to your care. Mireille. Sabrina.

Me and my partner came down to Broadstairs for the New Year with our elderly dog, but sadly he took a turn for the worse and had to be put to sleep. The vets were incredibly kind, compassionate and supportive during such a difficult time. We returned this weekend to collect his ashes, paw prints and vials of hair and we’re so grateful for the care and thought that went into them. They mean more to us than we can put into words. Thank you to everyone at the practice for your kindness and understanding.
