Took our dog Moose here Match 2026 as our local vet in Teignmouth don’t have overnight 24hr care. From the moment we walked in, the staff were immediately focused on Moose and did his obs and made a plan for us overnight. Moose was suspected to have rat poison poisoning and received a transfusion and vitamin k. Yes it was super expensive and they ask for a 50% deposit when you sign the consent to treatment but they have an excellent team and all the facilities for his care, so for us, it was 100% worth the money. I called them throughout the night for updates and they were direct and honest with me on the status. I am so grateful for all the care and support on both dog and human side and would absolutely use them again if the worst happens in the future.

Vet Tara was the best we have seen ! Empathic, explained options and "saw" us a family unit. Yes out of hours treatment isn't cheap but we were given an honest appraisal and nothing was pushed on us. I'm sure Luna is grateful, not having met you at her best 🐱. Many thanks for the great service and reassurance. X

Absolutely shocking experience. I found 6 abandoned puppies left to die in a carrier bag. I phoned and explained the circumstances & they would not help unless I got a log number from the RSPCA so they could ensure they got paid or else they said I could be liable. The RSPCA shut at 6pm. I have never spoken to a vet that had absolutely no care for the welfare of an animal. I would never use these as it was very clear they only care about money. A disgusting excuse for a vets practice that are suppose to care about animals.

We took our beloved cat (Dash) at St David’s, after a horrible accident and not even one second I felt they have love for animals. They recommended us to take 5 minutes and decide what we are going to do with our cat because the recovery will cost a fortune and the if we want to put down our cat to let them know in 5 minutes. I was shocked ! 5 minutes ? A life of an animal that it’s not just a pet, it’s your best friend, family ! We told them that we can pay but not right away. We can pay in about 5 days ( as we had to go to the bank and take out big money ). They didn’t agree at all and told us that we needed to put him down as we won’t have the money ( they just presume that we don’t have money ) Dash spent just one night there and it cost us £1.200 for a night !!!! They didn’t even give him expensive medicine and they left his eye hanging out til the morning ! I’m so happy we took him to another vets and £10.000 later he is good as new. Just because they didn’t believe we had the money. The way that doctor I think his name starts with K, talked to us I will never forget. He put 5 minutes on my fur baby life …horrible

Very disappointed with the out of hours service. We took our dog in who was unable to urinate with kidney stones. After he was treated for the stones, he became completely unable to walk. Resolved one problem but causes another serious one? Sarah Knight, the lead vet was unable to explain how his damage’s occurred and seemed very suspicious. The nurse who carried our dog out, nastily banged our dog’s head against a door frame and didn’t apologise. The whole experience was horrible. Whilst sitting in a waiting room, we could hear our dog yelping from another room despite doors being closed. No compassion or understanding. I put a complaint in regarding the treatment and it is clear the clinic’s director, Victoria Johnson doesn’t care about the way our dog was treated. I’d seriously consider alternatives before taking your pet here.
