Cannot recommend Orchard vets enough. Staff are wonderful and so caring towards our dogs. Recently we had an emergency situation with our cheeky boy Mack and the staff at orchard were amazing throughout and I felt confident Mack was receiving the best care. We also have insurance through orchard and it was explained to us at the time exactly how much we can claim and how to do it, there’s no chasing third party company’s - so glad we chose this option! This is my happy boy after 2 days at the vets with an overnight stay. Thank you for taking care of him, we appreciate you all! X

Took my dog there for an issue at which she was investigated. I joined their pet plan and also made an appointment for my dogs teeth to be cleaned. I was quoted £595 plus whatever extractions might be needed. Could be a total of around £1000 if multiple extractions needed. I said ok and took her on the date, signed all forms for her going under anaesthetic and left. I got a call an hour later saying I needed to pay another £160 as the dog was 12 and other tests were advised pre anaesthetic I pointed out to them 1) they knew the age of the dog when quoting me 2) they left it until 1 hour after me leaving the dog at the vets to raise the price. I told them they should absorb these costs as they left it so late to tell me. They would not relent.I fetched my dog and wasted a morning rather than relent to this last second pressuring. It is of note that my quote was with a 20% discount for joining their pet plan. So the base cost without a plan for teeth cleaning is around £750 for a younger and £950 for an older dog. ...very high.

I recently brought my 12-year-old cat in for his OAP check. The initial consultation was quoted at £109, but the final bill came to £150 as he was prescribed Metacam. That was understandable, and I had no issue with this. During the consultation, I was advised that one of his teeth appeared swollen and would need to be reassessed once the swelling had reduced, before deciding whether extraction was necessary. I was told this would require a follow-up visit. A few days later, his blood results came back normal, which was great news. However, I noticed there was no further mention of his dental review, so I followed up. I was then informed that if I wanted his teeth checked again, it would be chargeable. I found this surprising, as the follow-up had originally been suggested by the vet who saw him, not requested by me. The cost for dental extraction was estimated at £1,000–£1,200, which I am prepared to pay if required, as my cat’s health is my priority. However, I was concerned about being asked to pay an additional consultation fee just to reassess the tooth after being advised this would be necessary as part of the initial visit. In addition, I have noticed prices have risen considerably, such as £40 for 15ml of Metacam, which is available online for a fraction of the cost. I have been a loyal client for many years, but I feel recent experiences have not reflected the high standard of service I was used to.
