If you’re reading this you can stop your search for help for your beloved pet here. This review is long but it would be impossible to post a helpful one without the words. You can read about the process, but if you’re here you’re in emotional pain and needing a safe space. You found one with Rainbow Bridge vets. We were recommended to The Rainbow Bridge Vet by another cat owner who spoke very highly of the service they received from Dr Laura Davidson who helped their cat pass away. It’s so difficult to navigate the grey area of when is the right time. We need help. Laura and her team (vets with many years experience) offer a quality of life check service. I could not find this service with any other provider in my county. The relief knowing I could book this helped with this grey area around quality of life We had reached the point where we needed help and advice not unnecessary treatment plans. Every text (when it’s difficult to say it out loud), every e mail all answered quickly. Phone calls on time. They care. Laura listened patiently at our first telephone appointment. The history of our cats, our relationship, the impact their loss would have and their failing health. She took all our views into consideration. Our story. No rush, no pressure, just listening. At all times I felt she was taking her position as a privileged one, that she was being trusted to help our cats move on and end any suffering. Laura took a holistic approach to us as a unit and made sure we could make an informed decision. Working in the NHS for many years I picked up immediately that Laura has something special to offer. End of life for pets is about trust. The trust we found in Laura gave us strength. That strength gave Mia and Lola the good bye they deserved and us the strength to be there at nearly every moment. It left us with no regrets. We couldn’t ask for more from her. We wanted a stress free and peaceful end of life for Mia and Lola. Laura not only provided this for Mia and Lola but such was her kindness, respect, consideration and care through the entire process that she helped us emotionally to be strong. We were strong enough to say goodbye and not be left feeling we didn’t stay with them enough. Only the right person can do this. The process was explained at every step, was totally painless for Mia and Lola and I wouldn’t change a single thing. They didn’t realise anything, ate their treats and went to sleep. All my anxiety about them being stressed didn’t happen. Laura watched over them medically every single second only leaving them with us when safe and appropriate. We had as much time as we needed with them. To send our two cats together in such a dignified, peaceful and seamless way took skill. They passed in each others paws. Bless you. Resources about the process and help with the grief are provided on a beautiful card. We decided to set up a shrine with a candle for Mia and Lola. No pressure. Just every day or times we need it. It’s helping. The beautiful card left by Laura had a wonderful poem. There’s also a remembrance gift. I hope she continues to provide these. We needed them. We had a choice about cremation and ashes. There’s no right or wrong. Just what you need. A safe space. Thank you for reading.

I am so grateful to Dr Laura for her kindness and compassion at such a traumatic time. My beloved poodle, Molly was suffering and Dr Laura was able to relieve this without causing Molly any distress and allowing her to slip peacefully away. Thank you so much for that. I would highly recommend the Rainbow Bridge Vet for it's professional service and for the respect and compassion shown to both pet and owner. Just adding this update to say how much I appreciated the lovely card of condolence I received from Laura and the kindness and empathy shown br Dr Jim when he returned Molly's ashes to me. Also how beautifully the ashes were presented and accompanied by a sweet paw print from Molly which I will treasure. How wonderful that two such lovely human beings exist in this world.

I can not recommend the services at rainbow bridge vets Nottingham enough. I couldn’t imagine the day would come when we had to say goodbye to our Winnie but Laura & Jim were so caring and understanding of our situation with our boy. I was recommended their services through another company. I intially contacted Laura who listened and reassured me I was making the right decision. Not an easy decision for anyone but Laura made me feel better about the decision that had to be made. Jim came to our home and was so kind and understanding. He made us all feel at ease and listened about what had been going on with Winston. After spending some time with Winston he reassured us we were making the best decision for him. As awful as a decision it is to make, we got the chance to do all the things we wanted to do with Winston before we had to say our goodbyes. Jim was so caring & respectful. I will never forget the kindness he showed us that day. Our boy has been returned home to us, and now we can start to process the loss of our beloved family member. Although our hearts are broken, I would truly like to thank Laura & Jim for their kindness, care & compassion. You’ve made a hard decision a little less heavy for us 🖤🐾

Dr. Laura was incredibly professional and compassionate. She put us at ease right from the start and went above and beyond to make the whole experience as comfortable as it possibly could be😞I’m truly grateful for her care and would highly recommend her to anyone facing such a difficult decision for their beloved pet.

The whole process was obviously very heartbreaking but helped enormously by Jim who explained what was going to happen. He treated Jazzy with the greatest respect. We had to make a very upsetting choice to say goodbye to our cat Jazzy last week. He had chosen us 8 years ago and he became one of the family. He was such a lovely and loving character although getting on in years for a cat. He had had his health problems for 2 years but was controlled. But last week he had what was probably a stroke which left him in pain and unable to walk, use his litter tray or eat and drink. He had a good life with us so we felt it was only fair to let him go. Jim was so lovely. Nothing was rushed and Jazzy went very peacefully. Thank you for the lovely card we received today and I will save the heart flower seeds to plant for spring.

We can't thank Laura & Jim enough for making one of the hardest days just that little bit easier. We were not aware of this at home service and were made aware of it by recommendation of a friend. I will certainly mention and recommend Rainbow Bridge vets to others. The care and consideration shown to us and our cat Florence by Jim was great. I would highly recommend The Rainbow Bridge Vet if you ever unfortunately need this service. Thank you also for the lovely card you sent us it meant so much.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to The Rainbow Bridge and Dr. Jim for their kindness and professionalism in helping my beloved Cream Pie cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but their compassion, patience, and support made all the difference. Thank you for treating Cream Pie with such dignity and care in their final moments. Your empathy and dedication mean the world to pet owners like me. I will always be grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in need of compassionate and professional end-of-life care for their beloved pets.
