It has taken me nearly a year to write this review as, to be honest, I’ve been beyond angry about the way I was treated by this practice and I’m not really the type of person that rants about something in a public forum. But the nasty woman that they have on reception is not someone that anyone should have to deal with. If you love your pet and want to be treated with dignity from your very first phone call, in my humble opinion, please find another vets.

The veterinarian was very patient with and my dog (a large German Shepherd) and with me and my disabilities. In short a good consultation and would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Heartbrokenly I found my cat deceased on the 25th November 2025. I took her to Hungerford vets to arrange for her cremation. Being extremely upset at the time myself and my partner couldn't decide what we wanted, scatter tube etc. On our return home we decided on a box and phoned the vets with our request and paid for the service about an hour later. I called again on the 10th Dec 2025 to enquire when ashes would be ready for collection and was told probably the following week.I had no contact from vets so called again on 18th Dec to be told there was a delay but my cat hadn't been lost. I asked what sort of delay and was told there had been an administrative error and my cat was still at the vets. My requests for the cremation had not been passed on. I was called today 29th Dec 2025 to say her ashes were ready for collection. I've collected her now and throughout the whole process nobody has apologised. Even when I collected her no one apologised for the mess up. I was given a refund of half the cost but someone from the practice coming to me just to say sorry would have been appreciated. I have always had a good service but this time it was very poor and as bad as it is to lose a beloved pet the whole situation has made it even worse.

Staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Never do I feel like I have been charged unnecessarily. I wouldn’t trust my animals with anyone else. Been coming to this practice with my animals for 46 years!

I always want the best treatment for my dog and I have found on a number of occasions that The Veterinary Hospital has overwhelmed me with its high standard of care. I would certainly recommend this veterinary practice with no hesitation.
