Located in the heart of Selby, our practice is easily accessible to anyone in the area. From routine check-ups to emergency care, we provide comprehensive veterinary services for all species of animals including cats, dogs, exotic, wild, and small mammals.
At Vetcare, we understand that pets are more than just animals - they are beloved members of the family. Our team is committed to treating each and every pet with the respect, love, and care they deserve.
We are open from Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and closed on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We provide a convenient online appointment booking system, hospitalization, and vaccination services. In case of an emergency, we maintain an on-call veterinarian service for after-hours emergencies.
Our facilities are well equipped with the latest technology and equipment to provide quick and precise diagnostic services. Our veterinary team also consists of highly skilled and trained experts who utilize their knowledge to provide the best possible treatment for your pet.
We understand that a visit to a vet can be nerve-wracking for both pets and owners. Hence, we try to create a comforting environment in our practice. Our team consists of caring and compassionate individuals who strive to make each visit as stress-free as possible.

I wouldn’t recommend any one else to look after a pet other than Mauro and his team. The dedication to animal welfare is second to none, I sadly lost my dog last year but the one glimmer of comfort was my absolute trust that the advice I was given was in her best interest. Goes above and beyond everyday

Simply the best vet practise around. Mauro and his team are so passionate about their patients and have the animals best interests and welfare at heart. We have had Mauro as a vet for over 10 years now. any animal we have brought to him, big or small has received the very best care. I would never go any where else. Before having Mauro as a vet, I never had a pet excited to go to the vet, our dogs love visiting Mauro and his team!

The best vets ever! They are responsive, kind and considerate, all the staff are very helpful. We had the best care last year in the last few months of Jo dog's life and then so much compassion when she had to leave us. There are no words how grateful we were at the time for their support. I get excellent advice (and cost effective) in the care of my dog Layla's teeth and she loves going for her check ups. Flea and worm is easily organised on the plan and a yearly check up included, which is great value for money. As for my cat Flo, although she has a complex condition she has been incredibly looked after by Mauro, who has an amazing amount of expertise and skill. He always explains the conditions and treatment options (in language you can understand) and then helps you to make an informed decision. I feel confident that Flo could not receive any better care. Have never had such amazing care from a first line vet practice. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Vetcare Selby.

I can’t recommend Mauro highly enough. He consistently takes the time to build trust with my border collie which means she’s always relaxed during her visits. His approach is calm, patient, and genuinely compassionate. Unlike other vets I’ve used in the past, I’ve never felt pushed toward additional treatments or services. Mauro is incredibly knowledgeable, transparent, and clearly dedicated to the wellbeing of the animals he treats. I trust him completely with my dogs care

My dog is quite nervous about coming in to the vets, but the vet is really patient and understanding with him, giving him strokes and treats to make him feel more relaxed and gain his trust. The longer appointments times and having only one pet in the practice at a time really help with this. I was given great advice on how to help my dog be less anxious and the vet really cares about making it a good experience for the pets, and cares about what they need and what's best for them rather than being bothered about the money. Would definitely recommend Vetcare.
