Having used Vets4Pets, York, Turner Close for some time now, I was appalled with the level of care my cat, Rolo received during a recent visit for a health check and vaccination booster. Reception staff were excellent, and we were promptly dealt with on our arrival. When the vet called us through to the consult room, she did not introduce herself or have a name badge. Rolo's examination appeared to go well, but the vet did mention that she had snapped off an upper canine tooth crown...no further explanation or further treatment information offered!!! She then proceeded to discuss Rolo's weight which had dropped by 100g since last year, and that I should keep an eye on it. In her bio on their website the vet describes her passion as feline medicine!! Luckily my daughter, a qualified Veterinary Nurse was staying with us and she looked at Rolo's mouth and saw that the root of the canine tooth was clearly visible, and her mouth in the area was inflamed, and further treatment would be advised. My daughter rang the practice, and booked Rolo for a blood test, as is advised for 10yr+ cats before any operation. Rolo went back to the practice the following day for the blood test, but still no advice on any further treatment. My daughter had to ask for pain relief medicine. which we duly paid for! Unbelievable!!!!! When my wife rang to get a quote for the dental work which would be required, she received a standard email reply with the upper and lower prices, and what each included, but no specific information regarding the treatment that Rolo might require. Since then we have had no further communication from the practice, except an invite to write a review of our recent visit!! Lost for words!! Needless to say Vets4Pets will no longer be our vet

Every vet, nurse, assistant and receptionist is lovely, friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. We've had long-term care needs for multiple pets and have nothing but praise for how they've been looked after. My dog even tries taking me there for every walk, just because she loves them all so much.

The worst vets!! They were my vets but not anymore, went to them because my dog wouldnt eat and was clearly unwell, did £1500 worth of so called test to say he needed to go for a £6000 scan at some specialist vets for cancer and liver tests, he got transfered to minster vets for the night to get a feeding tube fitted while he waited, minster vets solved the problem that night and diagnosed him with pancratitis and got him on the mend straight away, no £6000 scan needed and my very poorly dog was well looked after by minster vets and home 2 days later! I would say to anyone who has a pet they love and care for not to register with vets for pets, its a franchise and its all about making money to them. If you need a quick vaccination for cheap then go for it but if you want your animal to be looked after go elsewhere. I would recommend minster vets all day long.

My dog paddy had heart failure and grade 6 heart murmur, I rushed him to the vets because he had breathing difficulties on the 4th June, I was told there was nothing they could do but suggested getting a second opinion from a heart specialist, I was an emotional wreck and I agreed to it because I was clinging on to hope. Paddy had his heart scan later that day, the heart specialist wanted to send him home or to put him in hospital over night, his breathing wasn’t stable so I agreed to let him go to minster vets for the night. Minster vets were amazing they stabilised him over night to everyone’s surprise and said to bring him home and let him go on a good day and not when he is struggling to breathe. So I spent one last day with him and had him put to sleep on 6th June. When I arrived at vets4pets at 6pm I was told the vet is running late so I took paddy outside to wait with him there and when I got to see the vet she asked me “are you 100% sure?” If I took him home he was going to die in a painful way and he deserved more so I went through. I believe if paddy had been under minsters care that scan would never of happened they made a traumatic experience 10 times worse and paddy deserved more. I trusted them to guide me and they let me down and they let paddy down. They have sorted the insurance out for his scan but it says 19th may-6th June but it was on the 4th June so I will be questioning that and I won’t let my paddy die with an injustice.
