This is an outstanding, values-based veterinary practice. Genuine friendliness of all the people I met. A very pleasant reception area with free coffee! Highly professional and empathetic vet who was extremely attentive, and explained clearly the reason for my dog’s symptoms. Very reasonably priced. I am so grateful for finding this practice. Thank you so much.

I am very disappointed with the experience during my visit today. I have been using this veterinary practice for several years, and both of my dogs have always received their routine vaccinations and care here. Although my dogs are fully compliant with UK import regulations, have complete documentation, and have an established medical history with the clinic, they were treated as imported animals during this visit, which resulted in unexpected and unsuitable arrangements. My dogs are well-behaved and calm in clinical environments, and have never caused any issues when waiting indoors. However, on arrival for our appointment, we were asked to complete a form and then instructed to wait outside in the car park on the basis that the dogs were considered imported / not born in the UK. No clear explanation of this policy was provided at the time. There was: No prior notice in the booking system or email communications No explanation given by reception staff upon arrival No consideration of alternative waiting arrangements The waiting area provided was an open car park with no shelter, and no proper effort was made to check whether we had access to a vehicle or how we could be contacted. We waited for around 30 minutes without any update. Eventually, the vet had to come out to the car park to locate us, which suggests a lack of coordination between reception and clinical staff. Although the vet later mentioned a new policy during the consultation, this was not communicated by reception when we arrived, which made the process confusing and stressful. Overall, the experience felt disorganised and inconsistent, particularly given that the dogs are long-term patients, fully documented, and well settled in indoor clinical settings. For any pet owner, especially in poor weather or without a vehicle, this kind of arrangement would be extremely difficult and distressing. I hope the practice reviews how such situations are handled, as communication and consistency clearly need improvement.

Hello, Came in yesterday with Teddy the hamster about his teeth. All staff are lovely and friendly. Didn't have to wait long to see the vet. She was lovely. Teddy wasn't in too long and received medication and appointment for Monday. Lovely place. Teddy seems fine this morning, was sat waiting for me, was starving . Thankyou xx

Amazing Vet who kept my nervous dog calm so a full check over could be carried out. Listened to all my concerns. Only waited two minutes and the receptionists were efficient and friendly

I'm really not happy with the recent service provided by you. We rang with our dog struggling to pee and being sick, and were told to bring him straight in which seems very standard practise for any of your transactions when its out of hours. The vet saw him and decided he had a blocked intestine and "could feel something" You then provided three options: A sickness tablet A sickness tablet and x-ray Operate Crazy how you can just come to the conclusion of operating - it is that simply to get more money off people? Looking by your Trustpilot reviews its exactly that. We chose to go for option 2 which still ended up costing us over a £1000, the x-ray magically come back with nothing on, we then brought him back in again and cost us more money for a "separate" issue according to you, even though he had the exact same symptoms as before - so we were asked to take a pee sample which we did Saturday and brough straight in - told it would take 2 hours to get results but you still haven't even bothered to call to tell us the results. It's pathetic, magic how you can find time to see people when they're paying out of hours and over a £1000 for nothing but when its a result you can't be arsed, the poor dog has suffered over the weekend because you can't be bothered to tell us whether he needs antibiotics or not. Luckily the dog seems to be on the mend no thanks to you. This isn't the first time you have robbed us - charging us over £5000 of which the insurance paid out £1300 because you'd overcharged on everything by like 300% and you had the cheek to blame the insurance company. I want a refund on the clear misdiagnosis because he clearly didn't have a blocked intestine and the vet miraculously felt something. Crazy to think you've also decided to say he has a heart murmur but your other vet that clearly didn't read the notes said he didn't. Was that just another push for even more money? When I rang for the test result on Saturday the office staff are obviously well trained in trying to get you to bring your dog in to the emergency - are they on commission? Why would I bring my dog into out of hours when I'm just trying to find out the test results. Quite obvious you have played this trick on a lot of people the reviews online are vile.

Went to Abbey House Vets for an emergency appointment. Staff were very helpful and reassuring saw the vet fairly quickly. I have a 7 year old Cockapoo called Jinny who unfortunately had had 2 fit like episodes earlier, she was very lethargic and her heart beat was rapid . bloods were taken and advice given re said episodes . Would highly recommend.

There’s a nurturing atmosphere throughout. The vets and nurses are very knowledgeable and patiently explained everything to us about our pets’ procedure. The receptionists are warm and friendly. Facilities like the separate waiting are for cats and Feliway-sprayed towels were such a lovely touch!
