I only switched to Ampthill Veterinary Practice a month ago as my former vet seemed to just be chasing money. Also a previous vet we had with our other dog gave us a really bad experience, needless they were struck off in 2025! However all the staff at Ampthill, and particularly May, Jenny, Chloe and Fay, were amazing over the past few weeks. Unfortunately it was end of life care for my baby but I couldn’t have asked for better treatment. All the staff we dealt with were compassionate and patient and explained things thoroughly, taking time and not rushing us. Just wished we’d signed up sooner. Thank you all for your kindness. We also received a lovely card and lovely keepsake delivered which has touched our hearts and is very much appreciated. With our next pet we will definitely come back.

Really thorough care of my cat. The vet listened to my concerns, gave me loads of information and was very helpful. She recommended a range of options and I felt very reassured throughout the whole appointment.

Used these local vets for my cats , 4 spays completed in total over the last 18 months and 1 cremation sadly. Lovely touch with cremation which really helped my son with his upset of losing our beloved Smudge Extremely professional & kind team - would recommend to anyone locally

All my cats are registered here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! 6 months or so ago I had my male cat (Pumpkin) neutered with Ampthill vets and they were incredible then, then I had an emergency with a kitten I had from a litter and Sarah was incredible dealing with that, although sadly little Ash did pass away despite Sarah’s incredible efforts to give him the best chance possible. Most recently one of my female cats (Oreo) got into an accident and had a nasty leg injury. The team have been absolutely outstanding in their care for her and today she unfortunately had to have her leg amputated. The care she received was incredible, and the communication with Sarah was amazing. She called me to keep me updated when there were updates , and reassured me that I could absolutely call at any point whilst Oreo was there if I felt like I needed or even just wanted an update. I haven’t felt rushed by them whatsoever, and my financial situation at current isn’t the best so Sarah and the team have been so incredibly helpful in making it as easy as possible and with minimal stress surrounding the finances of it all. Truly if you want a vet that doesn’t feel pushy and money grabbing, Ampthill vets is the one. They work WITH you so your pet gets the upmost best care possible whilst still finding a feasible solution for paying. You can tell they all truly care so deeply for the animals and thats so lovely! Huge huge thank you to the entire team for everything you’ve all done so far for Oreo!

The most amazing caring and compassionate practice i have come across both in the surgery itself where everyone is cheerful, friendly and clearly loves animals and last week when I sadly had to put my eldest dog Ollie to sleep. Mei and Laura were amazing, came to our house, nothing rushed, very respectful throughout and very compassionate. A handwritten card and some forget-me-not seeds came from Sarah and the team. Wouldn't go anywhere else now.
