We had our first (and hopefully last) experience of needing the Emergency clinic at Black Sheep Vets last night and cannot thank the lovely vet and nurse enough for their care and empathy. They were ready to rapidly assess and manage our precious Clara and clearly explained the steps and cost. They quickly returned with the outcome of their assessment which thank God was not worse case scenario and were respectful of our wishes for next steps. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness of allowing us to be with Clara whilst she came round as she was very distressed and they clearly care deeply about the animals that they are treating. Thank you again, we felt in very safe hands and Clara is recovering happily at home.

This Veterinary Practice is amazing. The reception team are so friendly and accommodating. They have ample parking and a separate waiting room for small animals and cats. The Vets Ive met are so kind and knowledgeable. They are excellent with the animals and owners. My bunnies have been well looked after here from routine visits to life saving emergency treatment. I rate the team here extremely highly.

We honestly could not recommend Black Sheep Vets highly enough. From the moment we brought Bagel home, they have been absolutely fantastic and have made what can be quite an overwhelming first-time puppy experience feel genuinely supported and reassuring. Humans invent puppies and then act surprised when they chew furniture, eat leaves, and require tiny medical schedules worthy of a NASA launch checklist. Every member of staff we’ve dealt with has been kind, patient, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about animals. Nothing ever feels rushed, and they always take the time to answer questions properly, no matter how small or silly they might seem. As anxious puppy parents, that has meant a lot. Bagel has had her vaccinations, weight checks, worming treatment, nurse club appointments and general health support through Black Sheep, and every visit has been positive. They are brilliant at handling nervous puppies gently and making the environment feel calm and welcoming rather than clinical and stressful. The puppy support package and advice have also been excellent. We’ve always left feeling more confident and reassured, and it’s obvious the team genuinely care about the wellbeing of the animals they see rather than just trying to rush appointments through. Special mention as well for how lovely everyone has been with Bagel herself. She actually enjoys going in, which says everything really. If you’re looking for a vet in the Louth area that combines professionalism, warmth, and genuinely excellent care, Black Sheep are amazing. We’re very grateful to have found them.

I’ve only been registered here for about six months, but I’ve now had to visit twice in the last couple of months with my dog—and both times the service has been outstanding. From the moment you call, everything is handled so smoothly. Getting an appointment is straightforward, the team are always kind and reassuring, and the whole process—from being seen by the vet, to getting medication, to settling up at reception—is seamless. It makes such a difference when you’re worried about your pet to feel like you’re in capable, caring hands. Really grateful for the professionalism and friendliness from everyone there. Would absolutely recommend.

Black sheep Vets team went above and beyond when I had to have an emergency visit with my pooch who sadly died before we arrived there. They gave me time with her and they were very supportive x x I can’t thank them enough as it’s the hardest day of my life.

I had to take my little baby puppy to the emergency vet here. Unfortunately he didn't make it. The aftercare I have received has been amazing. I chose to have my puppy cremated. I received 2 phone calls during the week explaining everything to me. I went to collect my puppy's cremains today. Right from the moment I took him to the moment I collected him everyone I met in the practice was caring and friendly. Thank you for everything. I would also like to say this is the cleanest veterinary practice I have ever been in.

I go here for my Rats. The vet I see is fantastic! She actually takes the time to talk and explain everything instead of just dishing out medication I don't understand. She is very carful when handling them. And it's good to see a vet who actually seems to care about my pets and not just the money! So far whenever I go in the people checking me in have been lovely and very friendly! I recommend! Especially to those with rodents struggling to find a vets office that caters to their fur babies! 🐀

I find everyone, from the front line reception, the vet nurses and not least, the vets to be friendly, kind, helpful, patient, considerate and totally professional. Even down to being extremely tolerant of the over loving Madeleine Bassett who knows what those nurses are up to with that needle. .....thanks again for your patience. 😼
