Everyone is kind and professional, and our cat—who was recommended for euthanasia by another vet two years ago—is still still alive.

Edhen review Sept 2025 We can't recommend Edhen Vets highly enough. We've had good and bad experiences at several other vets over the years, but nothing as excellent and consistenly positive as the treatment and care we've had from Rachel and the whole team at Edhen for the last 3 years. When we first saw there was a new vet in Shortlanesend, it was a few years since we'd been to a vet after a particularly bad experience and we were very anxious about the whole thing. From the first phone call they were helpful and reassuring. At our first appointment we met Rachel who was great with us and really lovely with our dog, getting down on the floor with him and quickly putting us all at ease. We were struck by the large size of the consulting room, which immediately made things more comfortable, and it made so much sense for her to be able to see our dog moving around naturally. She took her time, explained things clearly to us, and really included us and listened to us in an open minded way. She quickly established what needed to be done, and explained the dental surgery needed to us in detail, giving us new information about levels of sedation for different surgeries, and how it would all work for our senior dog. Over the last 3 years we've had quite a few vet visits and met most of the team. Everyone has shown fantastic skill and care and we've really appreciated how kind and helpful everyone's been with us, and how great everyone's been with our dog. We've had to leave him for surgery twice and both times he's been really well cared for and the surgeries have gone very well. It's always nervewracking with an older dog but they really know what they're doing. Lois did his first surgery and she's a superb vet, she was so good with him (and us). The whole team are so considerate and the care feels much more personal than most practices seem able to offer. The second time surgery was needed, we met Josie who was also a brilliant vet and again everybody was so caring and considerate. We've always been kept well informed when we've had to leave our dog there and they do all they can to make it as stress free as possible. We were also really impressed that Edhen offer a holistic option of the E365 health plan and that has worked very well for us for the last 3 years. We've had great consultations and check ups with Josie, Henry and Kate, and lovely care from Libby, Michelle, Caitlin and everyone we've met, and no doubt others behind the scenes. We really appreciate the thoughtful, personal way we've all been treated, and also the layout of the place and the whole atmosphere. Appointments don't feel rushed and they have a different way of doing things at Edhen that makes it all feel so much better. We're so grateful to everyone we've seen and spoken to since we registered. It's been such a relief to go from feeling fearful and alone to having excellent vets who we trust and feel supported by. Absolutely the best vets we've been with in over 40 years of using vets - we feel extremely lucky to have them close by.

Absolutely outstanding, we brought our dog on holiday and Chrystal developed some issues the day after she arrived, the care and attention all the staff gave her was amazing. Unfortunately we had to make the hardest decision to let her go however all the team couldn’t have been anymore supportive, I’ve never been to a vets that have treated our dogs and ourselves in the way they did. You gave Chrystal the best last week, she got to walk on a couple of local beaches and enjoy the Cornish countryside that she loved. Thank you ever so much, we collected her ashes the other day and she’s now back home in Manchester until we can decide what is next for her xx
