I can not praise Kevin enough at Vets for Pets Ilkeston, takes time to listen, proactive and sensible in his approach and very calm. I truly feel listened to and know my girl is getting the best oversight. Highly recommend.

If 0 stars was an option, I'd of chose it. So so disappointed with my experience at Vets for Pets. I noticed my dog wasn't himself on Tuesday and took him for an emergency appointment, where they did a blood test that didn't really detect anything apart from slight dehydration and a MILD infection. They suggested I brought him back the following day to be put on a IV drip, which they kept him on for 8 hours - they had to take him off for a while in the afternoon as the FLUID WAS COMING OUT OF HIS NOSE?!?!? Sadly, they put him back on the drip after this, sent him home and said I should bring him back the following day for another check up. He died the following morning after being pumped completely with fluid by 'professionals'. My dog shouldn't have died, if it really was a mild infection. Started treatment of my dog before they even knew what was wrong with him and it ended tragically. THEY CARE MORE FOR THE MONEY THAN THEY DO YOUR PETS. Absolutely heartbroken.

I had to bring my 12-year-old cat to Vets for Pets on a Saturday due to a sudden decline in her health, which sadly ended with her needing to be put to sleep. Our usual vets were closed, and I am so grateful that Vets for Pets were open and able to see us urgently. Issy on reception was truly outstanding, she was very kind, caring, professional, understanding, and incredibly supportive at such a difficult time. She really is an asset to them and I really appreciate the way she helped with everything. James, the vet, was also excellent I found him to be knowledgeable, compassionate, and very helpful, taking the time to explain all the options before we made the difficult decision to say goodbye. At the time when we were also dealing with the imminent loss of a close relative to cancer, the empathy and support shown by Issy and James meant so much. They helped make a heartbreaking situation a little more bearable, and I cannot thank them enough. Truly excellent care both for our pet and for us as a family, thank you.

The staff are lovely, I mean really great, and for a big chain have excellent local knowledge, are very supportive and know their stuff. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is parking, which can be very difficult at busy times, especially if you have a larger vehicle

Our young cat was taken into vets for Pets Ilkeston, by a very kind person after being found at the side of the road. We were contacted and told our cat had been brought in deceased. I can't praise all the staff enough for the way they handled our loss. We were offered the option of cremation and time to think about it. We asked them to cremate him. When I collected his ashes, I could not believe the trouble the had gone to. His ashes were returned in a lovely box, with a certificate that he had been individually been cremated. I could go on about the service we received but it would take far to long. The most amazing thing, we were not even registered with them. I would recommend these guys to any one with a pet, or thinking of getting one. A huge thankyou to all the staff for your kindness and sympathy from Garry, Jan & Ziggy

These vets have been absolutely wonderful, supporting me and my little dog after her difficult recovery from her spay surgery and subsequent infection. They were kind, compassionate, professional, understanding and clear throughout a very frightening and difficult time. Nothing was too much trouble, and they never made me feel silly for calling them to ask questions. They really went above and beyond, and I'm so appreciative that they got our tiny girl back to health. Pictured is my little Bela wearing her inflatable recovery cone of shame, which you can purchase to use instead of using a traditional elizabethan collar, to prevent your pet from irritating their incision site. **Further updating to add that yesterday we brought our beloved 19 year old cat, Alita, in for her final journey. It was time to say goodbye. We were treated with such kindness during one of the most difficult decisions of my life, and I'm forever grateful to the staff for being so compassionate and supportive. Having a much loved pet put to sleep will always be a devastating process, but the wonderful vet was very clear and understanding. They went to great lengths to make sure my lovely little old girl wasn't in any distress, and talked us through what was happening step by step. We were able to be with her while she passed, and spend some time alone with her afterwards. Thank you for treating our girl with such kindness, compassion and respect. ***Further edit. This morning my beautiful Ruby "Asbo" Soho died at home. Huge thank you to vets4pets for giving me time to grieve before bringing her in for cremation. We were treated with great sensitivity and kindness. I can't believe I've lost my two oldest furry companions so close together.
