Awful vets with very very little knowledge, very rude and unwilling to own up to their mistakes. Took our cat who had an accident, to be told that she was no longer in pain but she was paralysed. They then gave us options of euthanasia or an expensive surgery but gave absolutely no hope she would recover. We take her home for the weekend, by Monday she’s running up and down the stairs. I’m sorry but paralysed clearly means something completely different to these very ‘special’ people at McGettigans. Unwilling to acknowledge their mistakes and instead have decided to be rude and unwilling to cooperate since which tells me all I need to know. Honestly would never in my life send another pet to this abysmal place and if any of you value your pets then I would keep them far far away from this so called ‘vets’

We have our cats registered here and have seen various vets when they've needed consultations. All staff here are friendly & informative, genuinely caring for our cats. When sadly one of our cats needed euthanizing it was done so with compassion and dignity. It was very calm and gentle. We always feel fully informed and aware of what our cats best interests are and trust that they are in the very best hands at this practice. I highly recommend.

Best place for our cats. Always friendly. Bit of a pain to get to because of the junction on a corner. But once you know where it is its easy to find.

McGettigan Veterinary Surgery are one of a kind! We have been with them for the past year now and they have been nothing short of amazing. We moved to them when my spaniel was having ear issues and our previous vets charged the earth and wasn’t helping. As soon as we came to McGettigan’s they got on top of it straight away, were very informative and extremely reasonably priced. We have been in today as our cat has injured his tail. As soon as we saw Emma she quickly diagnosed the issues, prescribed the medication we needed and this evening he is so much better. I can’t thank the whole team enough for everything that have done for our pets, each vet that we have seen especially Emma and Orla are always so compassionate and knowledgable. We wouldn’t go anywhere else! Thank you McGettigan’s 💛

Had to take my pup here for his second vaccination, really friendly and knowledgeable staff... Always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your pet. The staff were very patient with my dog, who kept wetting due to excitement and gentle when administering his jab, so much so that he didn't even feel it. Limited parking, but a good veterinary clinic.

I joined the practice a few months ago after being disappointed with my previous vets. Mcgettigans have been wonderful! My 1 dog had two emergencies and they were absolutely brilliant, saw her immediately for both occasions. Staff are lovely, no bull or waffle just honest great treatment. Very fair prices too. So happy I changed vets.

Excellent service, has a family run feel and all the staff are really friendly and understanding. They are always happy to give advice over the phone and make recommendations on how to potentially avoid a costly visit where possible. No appointment is needed to purchase flea and worm treatment, providing you are either already registered or are registering as a new client. You can take your pet in to be weighed to ensure the correct dosage. However, if you have been previously and their weight has not changed, you can go by your records and collect flea and worm treatments without the need to take your pet for weighing within reason.
