I have been a customer at Medivet Hornsey for five years and have previously left positive reviews. Unfortunately, my recent experience — and the way my formal complaint has been handled — has completely destroyed my trust in this practice. My cat is on a paid care plan that includes flea treatment. After being advised to switch from spot-on treatment to tablets due to an adverse reaction, the practice implicitly accused me of “abusing the system” because of some administrative error which told them that, despite paying monthly for the plan, I have "used up my allowance". As a result, I have not been able to receive the flea medication my cat requires and which I have consistently paid for monthly since 2023. More concerning is what followed. I submitted a formal written complaint and was told I would receive a response within 15 working days. That deadline passed. I followed up. Head Office intervened. I set a further 5 working day deadline. That too has passed with no substantive response. In addition, services included in the care plan (such as annual urine screening) have not been offered for years, despite being paid for. The original issue was serious enough. The complete failure to engage with a formal complaint for over a month is worse. The lack of accountability and basic complaint handling standards is deeply disappointing. I would strongly urge anyone considering a care plan here to think carefully.

Unable to diagnose my cat had pneumonia and instead insisted on pancreatitis. At their 24hrs clinic they refused to treat the cat and charged £150 for the conversation! They asked to leave the cat at a cost of £1000 to check if the cat would have eaten with them! Just unable to have the correct ethics and provide a service in line with any professional code of conduct! The cat died after a few weeks!

My dog Waffles gets very anxious at the vet but our vet at Medivet is so patient, calming, and knowledgeable that we are able to get through vet visits much smoother than before. She is always happy to answer any questions I have. Their entire staff is so kind and truly care about their pet patients. ♥️grateful to have found them

I cannot thank the team enough for looking after my elderly and reactive rescue dog. We normally see Ianthi who is the head vet. She is an excellent vet who treats our rather difficult (and enormous) dog with patience and kindess. She has even managed to get him to walk voluntarily onto the weighing scales and even walk into a treatment room. Also, we purchase a copy of our prescriptions and buy the medication online - and it’s always allows us to use it twice which saves us paying for a new prescription every time Furthermore, when our elderly cat was diagnosed with cancer we requested an animal oncologist, and they issued our referral on the same day, they also reviewed him every Saturday until it was time to say goodbye.

Amazing service! I was able to get a same day emergency appointment even though my dog was not registered with them. The vets were lovely and thorough. Thank you so much! Really good and reasonable fees too :)
