Karl and the team here are just incredible. They are knowledgable, reasonable, genuinely independent and so so caring. My dog usually went to a different vet because we’re from York but personal circumstances meant that we were in London when she became unwell. Karl and the team looked after us, informed us, and genuinely cared for our girl. I actually decided that I preferred Richmond Vets to our practice of 20 years up north. They did their best but Coco was too sick. Karl was so empathetic and caring when I had to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life, followed by a seedless, dignified and caring approach and for that, I appreciate them so much. THANK YOU.

We’ve been clients at this practice for some time and have generally appreciated the care provided to our dog, Merlin. However, we were disappointed by our recent experience during his routine dental procedure. We were informed beforehand that extractions might be necessary, but we did not understand this to mean automatic consent for a tooth to be removed without a phone call. In our previous experiences with other veterinary clinics, owners have always been contacted before an extraction is carried out, so we were surprised to learn afterwards that one of Merlin’s teeth had been removed. I subsequently called and spoke with the surgeon, who explained that my partner appeared comfortable with the possibility of extraction and that we should have stated explicitly if we did not want any teeth removed. This was confusing for us, as it was never clearly communicated that silence would be taken as full consent without further discussion. Our understanding has always been that a direct call would be made before proceeding. We fully appreciate that clinical decisions sometimes need to be made while a pet is under anaesthetic, and we trust that Merlin’s welfare was the priority. However, clearer communication around consent and expectations would have made a significant difference to how we experienced this situation. We hope this feedback helps improve clarity for other pet owners in the future.

I changed to Richmond vets due to a recommendation from my friend and after a quite harrowing experience where my own vet would not treat my cat when he was very sick (Medivet). I have just been to the vet today with my cat and they were amazing. Fit me in straight away and were very professional and kind and most helpful. I am so glad I changed vets and am delighted that my dog and cat will now be looked after properly by a great vet. Thank you

We have been with RV for 40 years. The care for our cats and dogs during this time has been exemplary. Carl is incredibly caring and he always takes the time to provide detailed explainations if needed. Long may it remain a private practice. Huge thanks to you all.

We take the dog and the cat here. Having tried several other (chain) vets, Richmond Vets are so much better. They never try to sell me pet insurance I don't want or extra tests the pets don't need or any of that nonsense you get at the chain vets.

Should be more than 5 stars - the vets here are experienced and seem to know what's wrong with an animal just from looking at them - I've brought 2 pets here so far. The vets also spend the time to inform you of conditions, medications etc - it's a really personal feel to this place.
