Shepherds the Vets - Bridgend

We as a family very sadly had to put our family dog Marley to sleep, he was nearly 13 years old, and in very poorly health. Shepards Bridgend have always been our vets. So last Friday we made the decision to let Marley sleep one last time. The Vet and Nurse that helped us that day were amazing. Very empathetic with us. We have now received his ashes and pictures of his nose and paw prints. And now we just received a lovely condolence card in the post from all the team. Very touching. Took our 15 year old dog today as concerned about him. All the staff were extremely kind and empathetic. The whole experience from making an appointment to seeing the vet was excellent. The vet, Harry, was thorough, compassionate and informative. We have been registered here for a few years and cannot speak highly enough of the team.

My senior cat Lily came in as an emergency appointment on the Saturday due to really bad pain in her mouth. She needed emergency dental with a specific vet due to her being high risk. The team at Shepherds had her booked in with a vet (Rachel) by the Wednesday, she has hyperthyroidism so was high risk with her age also so my nerves were shot bringing her in Wednesday! But I was reassured Rachel was a quick and experienced vet to be caring for my girl. The team were incredible, advising me over the phone night and day on what to look out for and giving support. Rachel did an amazing job on my girl and she’s back home recuperating now. I’d also like to thank Laura, we were with you guys last year and have recently moved back and I’ve seen Laura as our most common vet since joining you guys. Her detail in information and willingness to help me figure out my best options financially was so kind. All of the vets at Shepherds have shown such genuine kindness to all of my cats and I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you all for your amazing work. Sadly had to put our 16 year old baby boy to sleep Friday. The vet was unbelievably amazing and all the staff were there for us and supportive. I couldn't of asked for better for our boy.

I would not recommend this practice. They work very closely with an unethical breeder who produces sick animals and they send them away with a clean bill of health. My kitten was noted to have a high heart rate at a check up but it was never disclosed to me. He died suddenly 8 weeks later. They work very closely with this breeder and all her cats. Mine is not the first to have died and they cover it all up as have so much money from her. They are as unethical as she is.

Absolutely disgusted. Took my rabbit to be neutered and he came back with edemas on his eyes which they charged me for. His eyes were perfectly healthy before his opt. Thanks for the reply @shepherdsthe vet. Nicely worded to make you sound responsible. Quite frankly, there is a MORAL issue here. My rabbit got these edemas when he was in YOUR care! Not mine! It is your fault, simples. I. If I injured one of your pets, I would pay for it without hesitation. Have a think about that.
