Most of the time I had great experience at the clinic, people were lovely. However, when I asked about my old boy's eyes (they started to get extremely gunky), I was told that it just age and I shall keep them clean. I changed vets because I moved and mentioned it to my new vet who carried out a very thorough examination and prescribed an ointment that solved the problem almost instantly. She said that left alone, his coronea would have gotten damaged. I'm very disappointed that he wasn't even examined at Stable Close.

I’ve had four dogs in my lifetime with various experiences of Vets. I have to say that this Vet when my Jack Russell age 15 years was so very unwell and was eventually put to sleep, which was very upsetting !they were supportive and caring, especially Becky . This little dog was always very frightened of Vets, but she never showed any fear here. I now have a seven month old puppy who’s been in for various little things and more recently for an upset gut. Very professional reception team ,very polite and supportive and they gave an appointment as soon as possible , as he really wasn’t very well. Probably the best Vets I’ve been to. my old Vet John Knott recommended me to this Practise. Thank you very much, Animals need love and kindness .

We’ve always taken our two rescue dogs to Stable close, the vet Charlotte and female owner (apologies I do not know her name) have always been fantastic and knowledgeable. They are pragmatic with their approach and do not pressure you for multiple expensive tests for the sake of it. Everything is explained throughly and in comparison to other vets I have attended they are in a different league. Our dog Ralph is extremely reactive to other dogs and very nervous yet they accommodate his behaviour well by letting us wait outside or ensuring other dogs are well away from him in the car park (during covid). Dot is a very tiny chihuahua and they are so gentle with her and ensure no extra stress is caused unnecessarily. Receptionist is ALWAYS friendly and makes a fuss of little Dot and very polite on the phone. Appointments easy to book and in emergencies ( I thought Ralph was having a seizure) he was treated as priority without question. Thanks you Stable Close I wish you could specialise in rodents as I would have brought my chinchilla to you!!

Were recommended by a friend, so I contacted them via email and asked for a rough "not set in stone" estimate of what it would cost to have a common surgery before bringing my dog in (removal of bladder stones). Despite providing full medical records including x-rays/ultrasound images, weight, age, breed etc, they would not provide any estimate of price without bringing him in, even though I said I'd happily agree to having him registered and examined ahead of surgery -once I knew roughly what they charged for this common surgery. The other 2 practices I reached out to (with a copied version of the exact same email) both provided estimates, but it seems these folks are more interested in making money off consultations, or simply catering to clients with premium insurance? Either way they are an example of why the Competition and Markets Agencys review into the veterinary industry has recommended that veterinary practices should publish written estimates of prices for common treatments over £500, and I have no interest in doing business with them. Would not recommend to anyone.

We had a bit of an emergency, and the stable vet managed to book us in within 30 minutes of our call. We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved — the admin team and the vet who handled our nervous Rosie so brilliantly. She’s already looking much better and on the mend. Thank you so much for your care and quick response!

We've been customers of Stable Close for two years now and have had absolutely faultless service. All of the team are super friendly and professional and both of our pets have been treated promptly with care and respect. Our dog absolutely loves the team there and considers a trip to the vets a treat! Highly recommended.
