I really can't thank all the staff at Alma vets enough!! I recently brought my poorly dog Bosco in to see Connie for his first visit to the practice. He is a 9.5 year old JTR who is very reactive to other dogs. After speaking to the reception team they managed his visit brilliantly with no fuss or judgement, just care and professionalism. This is something that we sadly had not experienced at our previous vet, so I was really grateful to them all for making the visit so calm and stress free. Connie was simply wonderful during Bosco's exam. She was kind, patient and gentle with her approach which put a rather stressed Bosco at ease. He was in obvious pain and discomfort due to a rather large swelling, but she took her time to examine him and showed patience and skill. As a result of her amazing approach, he was willing to have various tests done, which I didn't think in a million years would be possible without sedation, but I feel this was possible due to the caring manner in which she treated him. Throughout the consultation I was advised of all options available to me, from his diagnosis and treatment. Connie explained the pros and cons of each and I really felt she was looking at Bosco's treatment holistically rather than just ordering a lot of expensive tests and treatments. I felt fully confident in Connie's judgement, advice and treatment plan. Although it was not the outcome we were hoping for, I felt all options had been lexplored and am confident that the right decision has been made. I really wish I had known about Alma Veterinary Hospital years ago..mine and Bosco's visit has shown me what animal centred care should really look like. We will continue to visit Connie and the team for Bosco's palliative care and management, and know that when the time comes he will be treated with the kindness and care every "Good Boy" deserves. Thank you!

Always nice to be greeted by your receptionists. Excellent half yearly examination by the vet, caring and very helpful. Charlie enjoyed the tip bits as well.

I called this Vet today on the advice of the RSPCA regarding a young stray cat who needs urgent medical attention for his eye. We have been looking after this poor traumatised cat for a few weeks, and today I needed help for his infected eye. I was absolutely horrified when the lady [who refused to give her name] said to me that the vets consultation is £69 and the RSPCA voucher is only £60 and since i made the choice to feed the poor cat, the medical bills was my responsibility. The vet is clearly abusing the RSPCA money to pocket themselves and not put their duty of care and the animals welfare first. She repeatedly said this to me which i found very insulting and insensitive. I have reported them to the RSPCA and advise that no one takes their pets to this vet and they are only interested in how much money they can pocket and refuse to help injured, sick and vulnerable pets. The tone and mannerism of this lady was so rude and heartless. In the end another lady came to the phone and said she was going to terminate the call and left this poor cat without urgent medical assistance. I will share the audio recording with their regulator for further investigation.

As always extremely happy with our consultation at Alma vets. Felt that everything was explained and feel that a conservative approach of rest and painkillers was taken rather than suggesting tests and x-rays. Reception staff are always delightful and helpful.

They saved our 11 year old Labrador’s life. We never had any health issues untill our dog woke up one morning and refused to eat, drink or could barely walk. We managed to get an appointment almost immediately and our dog has been left at Alma Vets overnight under emergency care for what happened to be acute pancreatitis. I can’t thank you enough for looking after our dog with so much love, care and professionalism.
