It was good to visit a straight-talking, no nonsense vet who gave us sound advice and understood our dog. She was quick and efficient with the jab too.

My dog wasn't feeling the best over the weekend and first thing Monday morning, rang the surgery for a vets consultation and was given the first appointment of the day. I was so relieved as I was worried that it could be another ailment that was more serious. Time was taken and a concise examination took place. Prescribed the necessary for her and was told if not improved in two days to return.

A big thank you to Lauren, Joanna, and all the team at Deane Vets for the excellent care given to our dog, Patch (aka 'the wriggler') yesterday. He needed to have 9 teeth removed, but still came out wagging his tail at us and the staff. He's recovering fast, and though we were braced with our wallets when collecting Patch, we were pleasantly surprised at the very competitive bill. Thank you for looking after our boy so well! We have been clients at Deane Vets for two decades. Now we feel forced to transfer to another practice, an independent one. The main reason for this, is the new arrangements for out of hours provision. We have recently received notification that in the event of our pet being ill or injured outside daytime opening hours, we must use Three Counties Vets Emergencies. When I looked up where this practice is located, I was alarmed to discover. - Axminster in Devon. This would involve a car journey from Taunton of nearly an hour with many miles on minor roads. Travelling such a distance with a distressed animal would be extremely challenging. We have past experience of using the emergency service at Deane Vets and we were grateful for local emergency provision. The new service will mean far greater stress for animals and their owners. Since losing their independence, to IVC Evidensia, Deane Vets has become increasingly commercially driven. Pet care feels secondary to profit making.

We had a wonderful visit yesterday. From the moment I spoke with the reception team, I felt truly valued and welcomed. I’m always a bit of a nervous wreck taking my cats to the vet because they are so anxious- especially my blind cat- but Joanna was incredible. She showed so much patience and genuine care, handling them gently and never making us feel rushed. It’s such a relief to find a practice that understands both pet and owner anxiety! Thank you Joanna! Highly recommend.

Vet was great with our Rabbit she said Tia had crackles on each lung and had pneumonia so gave us medicine which was 7 days. I was advised to not let Tia out for a few days. So she has been in the house for three days now and already back to eating normally and being a happy rabbit I'm most greatful for the veterinary treatment Tia had , we have been using this vet for over 20yrs now and always been happy with this vet.

Lovely local practice. Every time we’ve been we’re treated respectfully with a clear answer to our concerns. Have never felt pushed into buying a product or plan, as I have with other surgeries. The vets and nurses give practical and affordable advice and solutions.
