The first time i’ve visited Donaldson vets and i’m very impressed. From the cheerful customer service and such a lovely veterinarian Kathryn who did such a great job checking my kitten . Now hopefully she will be on the road to recovery. UPDATE We had to swap vet locations as one was close than the other . I left a message on the pets app the night before quite late and didn’t anticipate a message back so soon. Amanda rang we early to advise that my Ap would be at my chosen practice. As easy as that . Thank you again

Sometimes great, sometimes not. Really depends on which vet you get to see, some are clueless, some are excellent.

Today was such a sad day saying goodbye to our cat , but the pure care ,compassion and respect for us I find hard to put into words. The young lady vet was simply wonderful . Every option explained and discussed with absolutely no pressure to make a rushed decision. The time and love given for us and our cat as well as time given to us to say goodbye left us feeling so grateful for Donaldsons Vetinary service.I can’t recommend them highly enough such lovely caring staff . Thank you .🙏

Very happy. I've taken my rabbits, cats and budgies here over the past few years. The staff are all lovely, very helpful and efficient and you can always get an appointment quickly, which can be vital sometimes. Highly recommended.

Avoid this vets at all costs !!! I took my dog to be spayed she was a large breed and we were advised of the risks involved. My dog had complications with the spaying but she did pull through and was allowed home the next day. At this point we paid just over £1000. When she was allowed home she was leaking lots of fluid but we were told its fine go home. She had a follow up appointment afew days later still leaking fluid but we were again told she was fine no concerns. Over the next 2 weeks my dog lost over 9kg in weight was sick and couldn't wee properly. We took her back another 7 times in a 2 week period and paid another £400 for antibiotics, swobs and anti sickness tablets as she was mis diagnosed as having a urine infection. After 2 weeks of back and forth I said my dog needed to b re operated on as its clear there's something wrong. The vet wouldn't do it that day as he wasnt confident and didn't have enough staff so we had to wait until monday when an external company came to do a scan before surgery which cost a further £600. Once the scan was done it was the established my dogs internal organs were all completely stuck together as her bladder had been damaged during her spaying surgery and she had to be put to sleep as there waa nothing they could do.I was devastated i put in a complaint as we wanted answers and we wanted the final bill of another £1000 to be amended as we didn't feel we should have to pay for medication which was never going to work but mainly we wanted an explanation of how my dog could die in such a barbaric way. Joanne finlay was aggressive in her response from the outset and basically told us your dog died due to her body fighting the operation !! A ludicrous response we have proof she died o chonnic peritonitis caused by their error as we requested her full medical reports. No apology was provided just the bill of 1026 was outstanding and had to be paid in 7 days. We've paid over £2500 to donalsons to basically kill our dog !! Looking at reviews seems were not the only ones with a similar experience !!!! Don't not risk your pets lives with them they do not care about animal welfair at all!!!

We’ve been using Donaldson’s vets Sowerby Bridge for over twenty years (from when it’s was previously Prospect Vets), and wouldn’t take our animals anywhere else. The staff are friendly, helpful and when ‘that’ time comes with pets, extremely caring and compassionate. Since Donaldson’s took over the practice, the level of care and personal touch has stayed the same, as many of the staff remained. We’ve also used the Donaldson’s main vet centre in Almondbury, where the service is just as good, despite us not being on first name terms with the staff there. Having our animals insured by Pet Plan takes away much of the stress of ownership as Donaldson’s are happy to deal directly with the insurers, on our behalf, with the bigger bills - of which there have been many over the years! Excellent vets.
