I believe that Garston are the best vets in the area. They demonstrate great care and excellent knowledge each time we visit. They always explain any treatment or advisory care really clearly and I've never felt patronised. I hugely appreciate the separate waiting rooms for cats and dogs. Cats are very often really stressed when being taken to the vets, so not having the added stress of being around dogs helps. It means you don't have to try and schedule an appointment for a specific 'cats only' time if you have a particularly anxious feline companion.

Garston Vets Frome is by far the best practice I have visited in 30 years of having pets. The staff are consistently kind, knowledgeable and genuinely care about animals. My dog and rabbit are always treated with compassion and professionalism. The clinic is spotless yet welcoming, with a calming atmosphere that puts both pets and owners at ease. It feels like a high end facility without being cold or clinical. I also appreciate how well the team is supported. Everyone seems happy in their roles, which speaks volumes about the leadership and work culture. Seeing updates on staff training and the new CT machine shows how committed Garston is to improving care. It is reassuring to know my payments support ongoing improvements in treatment and standards. Highly recommended. I would give 10 stars if I could! — Emma, Dottie 🐕 and Alice 🐇

I phoned last night as my dog was dying. I wanted to know if there was anything I could do. I needed a compassionate voice and understanding. The vet called me back as it was out of hours (9pm). She was abrupt. Told me to bring her in even though she was dying and they would assess her. Mentioning the £160 just to see her. She was dying. She was a 2lb 12yr old chihuahua. We explained that we were not travelling 45 minutes if nothing could be done. We knew nothing could really be done but you panic and want reassurance that even though she was showing all the signs of respiratory failure/heart failure and her eyes had clouded over, that they could comfort you somehow. Instead, when I said my husband wanted to hold her in his arms till she passed… she CHUCKLED over the phone and said she would report this! I don’t know if she is severely emotionally stunted when it comes to compassion in times like this but it was the most brutal and cruel response we could have ever heard. Our baby died ten minutes later, in our arms, at home and not in a car on the way to see the wicked witch of the South West. I do not write negative reviews but her behaviour was absolutely atrocious and heartless. Go elsewhere if she is the usual out of hours vet. Void of empathy!

After our beautiful cat, Grace, passed away from terminal cancer, Garston Vets were understanding and respectful. They sent my husband and I a bereavement card, with a packet of wild seeds attached. So that we can scatter them, as a reminder of our loss. I also asked for paw prints and cutting of her fur, which they did, even putting her colours into separate vials (white, black & ginger). My cat box, towel and throw were also returned to us. The staff were brilliant, at this sad time. And for that reason, I am giving them a 5 star rating.

Recently visited Garston Frome to get my hamster Mango checked over. Sophie was super polite, friendly and reassured and explained everything to me. The building is clean and warm, and they have separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. Our wait time was minimal and they addressed Mango by her name like your GP would to you! Really respectful. Would definitely recommend Garston!
