I cannot thank the team at Gordon Vets enough for the kindness, compassion and urgency they showed when my beloved cat Bo became seriously unwell on the very day I was due to fly on holiday. Having only recently moved to the area, I was incredibly anxious and upset when I made that first worried phone call — but from the very beginning, the team immediately understood the seriousness of the situation and the difficult circumstances surrounding it. I felt listened to, reassured and supported right away. A very special thank you to Lewis, who was absolutely wonderful with Bo. He was so calm, gentle and incredibly tuned into him, recognising immediately that Bo was in pain and treating him with such compassion and care. In such a stressful moment, Lewis gave me complete confidence that Bo was in the very best hands. What touched me most was the level of care and thoughtfulness shown beyond the immediate treatment itself. Lewis even made arrangements to ensure Bo was safely transferred and cared for at another veterinary practice later that day so he could be collected safely whilst I was away. That kindness and professionalism meant the world to me. Bo has since gone on to receive further treatment and is doing so much better, and I will always be incredibly grateful for the care, empathy and reassurance we received from everyone at Gordon Vets during what felt like a frightening emergency. The staff at Gordons are amazing, you always feel bad when your pet is injured or ill but the attention they give makes you and your pet feel at ease and comfortable with treatment required

I’m new to the area and I was scared to leave my old vets practice because they were so good — but Gordon’s really upped the game! The vets who have seen my dogs were so friendly and affectionate to them — one even got down on the floor to say hello to my nervous small dog which I’ve never seen a vet actually do. Them making the effort to make my dogs feel special made me feel happy. Small things like that go a long way. And I sincerely appreciated how upfront they were with prices as well as the phone calls during my dog’s dental procedure to give me all the updates. From what I’ve seen, the vets have great “bedside manner” with my pets, and that made me feel much more at ease. It made me feel like they loved animals there, and that’s what I want from a vets!

Took this old girl in yesterday for nails, glands and lump checks. Lovely friendly staff, great with my grumpy girl Suzie. Always come away feeling that Suzie gets the best care from these guys. Quick appointment slot, no unexpected extras on the bill and genuine interest in Suzie, what I mean by that is the vet talked away to Suzie, she could see she was anxious and took her time. Thumbs up for service, from friendly reception staff to kind vet and nurse. Thank you from Suzie and her mum x

Eye-watering prices since the family business became corporate. I paid over £90 just to have my cat’s blood pressure checked. Medication is charged at three to four times the usual price, and if you prefer to order it online, you’re asked to pay £34 simply for a written prescription. I know this isn’t the staff’s fault, but the corporation’s profit-driven approach feels unethical and undermines trust.
