Absolutely incredible My horse went down with colic and after a battle with aireworth (they refused to come out) I called hird&partners. The on call vet was with us within 30mins and put my suffering boy down. Hes was amazing with him, talking to him, stroking and reassuring him and letting us be with him throughout. He was in immense pain and I can’t thank hirds enough for coming out so quickly and letting him go so peacefully

I cannot commend highly enough the professionalism, customer/patient care and humanity the team brought to my partner’s 30 years old gelding. Throughout the process my partner was emotionally shredded at the prospect of losing her beloved Nico but she was treated with as much care and compassion as the old boy himself. In the unfortunate event your horse (of any age) requires treatment then I would say this practice should be your go to. Thank you Nigel, Helena, Amelia and all the team you every other member of staff are fantastic and a credit to your profession.

I don't ever give negative reviews until I give a business chance to put things right. After paying over £5k+ in Vets fees , I really do feel the need. I got a recommendation a physio vet that could not believe Hirds had missed a swollen stifle on four visits to our yard. They said the pony had thrush which a blacksmith confirmed was nonsense. Then after running bloods said the pony had EMS. maybe so but wasnt the reason behind his left hind lameness, instead of advising on diet etc, which they decided to do after 12 months the repeatedly insisted on blood tests every other week for nearly a year. When this was questioned with no specific plan and over £4k later, Beth insisted that the account would be put on hold until we were happy with the outcome. The next advise was to not feed the pony on the morning of the bloods, which when researching will ofcourse, show a lower reading as it only shows what was eaten within the last 90 mins. After paying £4k, I started recieving threats of court for the remaining £1k even though the account was supposedly on hold and Beth had told me to ignore these letters. She then sent me a very abrupt email, no pleasentries of professionism whatsoever, saying not to call the office again and to pay the remaining £1k or they would take legal action, despite me still being unhappy with the ongoing treatment of my pony, I paid the bill. I have been very upset regarding the service provided , never once swore or raised my voice over the phone. This company have taken over £5k with no clear or concice plan, just a get out plan to make them would look like they have done something to reduce blood sugar readings. I am absolutely astonished that such a reputable company has dealt with this situation in such a way. My last 3 e mails have been ignored, of course now that they have their money, they are not in one way concerned rrthe health of my pony. Disgusting service. No wonder vets are so much under scrutiny to become regulated. What was once a caring profession seems to have become very uncaring and very unprofessional and more of a license to print money.
