I cannot say enough good things about Larkmead vets. They have multiple locations around our area making it convenient to get into an appointment quickly. The Didcot Park Rd location has an upstairs cat clinic on specified days which is extremely helpful, especially if you have a cat with anxiety that needs a calmer, quieter waiting room area. All vets I've had an appointment with are kind, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions and discuss plans of care. For general queries or repeat prescriptions you are able to contact via WhatsApp for a swift response. Lastly, we had an elderly cat whose health began to diminish. Our regular vet was compassionate and walked through what the next few months would be like and our options for care. On our last vet visit with our beautiful cat, following the end of life care, we were given time to cuddle and say goodbye before it was her time to go over the rainbow bridge. We were treated with such compassion and kindness. Awhile later, we receiving a lovely hand written letter from our vet along with some "forget me not' seeds to plant in memory. This was over and beyond, and so special to have our pet recognised as a part of such a loving community.

Our dog Luna recently injured her back, and after feeling dismissed and unsupported by our previous vet, we were left completely lost about how to help her recover. We decided to visit Larkmead for a second opinion — and we are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the practice felt modern, welcoming, and friendly. We were seen by Florena, who was absolutely amazing. She took the time to listen, understand Luna’s history, and answer every question we had. She clearly explained all the possible options, including the recommendation for X-rays which we proceeded with. After reviewing the X-rays with her colleagues, Florena phoned us with a clear summary of their conclusions and a practical short-term care plan. At our follow-up appointment, she was just as caring and thorough — she even watched Luna walk into the room to assess her gait and remembered personal details from our previous conversation, including that I’d had a back operation myself. We left feeling reassured, supported, and finally confident that Luna is in the right hands. We’re incredibly grateful to Florena and the whole team and will be moving Luna’s care to this wonderful vet surgery going forward. Highly recommended.

We've been with Larkmead for over 2 years now. We've had to take our girl Ripley in a few times now, most recently for her spay about a year ago, and then for confidence classes as she developed a fear of visiting the vet. They always take great care of her. They tried to help our oldest cat, Mystral a few months ago but sadly he didn't make it, but everyone was so supportive and he was treated with love and dignity. Thank you. xx

Our cat Tilly was taken to Larkmead after being attacked by a dog. Unfortunately, Tilly did not survive her injuries, but I believe that they did absolutely everything they could to save her. The staff at Larkmead were incredibly caring and very sympathetic in dealing with us. Lovely people.

The staff are very caring and considerate. They did everything they could for my dog but in the end the odds were against us. I am thankful for their kindness and perseverance. When I am ready to get another dog I will be bringing it to Larkmead.
